Wordpress Update issues

Today I have been having trouble on the auto update feature for wordpress on my hostgator account.
I get the following error:

Downloading update from http:// wordpress.org/wordpress-3.3.2-partial-1.zip…

Download failed.: Couldn't resolve host 'wordpress.org'

Installation Failed

The funny thing is though all my domains have updated fine except for one.

Anyone else have this problem or is it just me

cheers Chett.

Hi,

Why not just login to Wordpress and update directly there?

Hi Esolutions,

That is the way I am trying to update at present (from the Wordpress admin area) and that is the error it
is giving me.

I noticed on the wordpress.org site a few other people were having this problem and I guess a number of other people here use Hostgator. So I was wondering If anyone else here was having the same issue or
if I am just an isolated case.

I can't complain about Hostgator. They have always been alright for me. It's the first time I have had this issue. They are now looking into this for me.

Hi, easyrider - It's nice to know I'm not the only one, although it's not nice for you I'm sure.

I contacted hostgator and they resolved the issue for me. They said WordPress was allocating memory just above the limits set on the server and was stopping the updates from completing.

Thanks for the update. What did they do to resolve the issue?

Hi easyrider,
The support person told me they raised the limit, and if It happened again that I should contact them so they can raise it again.

Hi,

Too bad they didn't display the memory error when you were having trouble. I've seen Wordpress sites maxing out on memory a lot lately, maybe has to do with the newer versions?

I don't have enough knowledge to know to be honest. You may well be right - I guess the support guy may be thinking this, as he mentioned I may need to contact them again in the future about it.
