Site Speed

Hi guys,

I contacted Cecille about making my site faster and she suggested i use Wordfence to make my site load faster. The problem is that i have installed it to my site but when i go to GOogle analytics to check my site loading speed i really cannot tell if it is faster or not because when i logg in it is fast. I look at my stats and for some countries it is 10 seconds and for other it is 0 second. It is really confusing. Can you guys just click on my url to see if it fast or slow.

www.simple-fast-weight-loss-secrets.com

I would really appreciate that guys.

Cheers.

Just counting in my head, your page took 9 or 10 seconds to load (in the San Francisco North Bay via DSL). You want it to be under 5 seconds - some would say under 3 seconds and that's what I tune my own WordPress blogs for.

My page load speed control method is:
* Careful jpeg compression of all photos in Adobe Photoshop (I'm a computer graphics expert)
Keep them under 30 kb to 40 kb in size - never over 50 kb.
* I use a WordPress plugin called "Use Google Libraries" to speed up the loading of the javascript libraries
* I test page load speed on Pingdom, not Google: http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/.
Be sure to set the city the test comes from first. Use Pingdom to see what page elements are loading the slowest and then fix them in WordPress and re-test.

Hope this helps...

Yeah jimcoe is right!

Here are some info Use a Cache Plugin. WordPress is a PHP script, so everything is dynamic, which means every time a page is loaded

make GZIP-APPAGE make a php.ini file and inset this code zlib.output_compression = On and upload this into your wordpress. Every web pages produced by PHP will now be compressed before sending over Internet to the web browser to decode.

Split Long Posts in Several Pages

Reduce Image Sizes

Remove Inactive Plugins

Thats all

Good Luck!

Hello lloydc1c1,

Your site speed is

Load time
11.59s

choose a good webshoting! yes your site speed loading is good when its connected in your webhosting. But in first level loading up your website your domain gets difficult to get the information in your webhosting thats why 3-5 seconds will connect in your webhosting. did you get my point? :D

in short change your webhosting again

It seems to be slower. I tested it from Dallas, Texas on Pingdom and got 16.62 seconds with only 1 test (usually I average 5-10 tests).

Took 4.25 seconds just to connect to your web server. Your "pattern6.png" image is over 277 KB in size and takes over 6 seconds to load.

Guess you didn't do Pingdom testing and fixes as I recommended above and so you missed that image. It's probably part of your theme. If you have an FTP program, you should be able to find and download that image and compress it - or get a better theme.

Moving to a new hosting service is unlikely to help (unless your old host was quite bad and the new one quite good).

Several times, Pingdom wouldn't even connect to your web server. If I were you, I'd call your web hosting service and ask them why Pingdom can't connect 4 out of 5 times at:
http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/

I've never had that happen before.

Hope this helps

I'd say any theme that uses an image which takes 6 seconds to load and is over 277 KB in file size has a problem - no matter who created that theme.

Those are the figures I got with a single test from Dallas, Texas on Pingdom. Could Pingdom be wrong? Maybe - but that's not my experience with them.

Hi Llyod,

Try to check Pingdom analysis and see which content loads slower. Also, you may want to try to check this blog- http://cleverwp.com/wordpress-optimization-checklist/

It provides a good checklist on how to make your site load faster.

I hope that helps!

Thanks Mary. I checked out that site and i must say, I really don't know anything about coding or touching HTML. I am really just having a problem compressing files. I am scared to touch my sites HMTL. I don't want to mess everything up.

All i just want to know is how to go about and fixing all the problems that are Pingdom has list. For example if a file is to large how do i compress it.

Thank you.

Guys maybe if should be more clearer.

If Pingdom says

Compressing 'http://www.simple-fast-weight-loss-secr ... uery.js?...' could save 58.8KiB (64% reduction).

What must i do next. I understand that they are saying i must compress that file and i could save 58.8 kb. I want to know what are the steps i must follow.

Thanks guys

Hi lloydc1c1,

Sorry for the delay in responding.

I apologize but it seemed that file compression is really a technical thing.

You may refer to these pages here for information on how to compress website files:

I hope that helps!

Web sites speed depend on sites design and images. If your sites have more images then its speed will be slow.
