Links are dissapearing

Hi Guys,

I would like to know what is the best tool to find out how many links a site has. The problem i am actually having is. Each time i log into my Webmaster tools account my links seem to be getting less. I don't know if the problem is with how i set up my Webmaster Tool code or what. I also went to all of the pages that i posted my links and they all still seem to be fine. Why does webmaster tool not count them.

Thanks guys.

Hi Lloyd,

You can use Traffic Travis to check your site's backlinks, or use Affilotools if you have access to it. Another option is to search in Google:

You will then see all the links pointing back to your site.

Hope that helps. Have a good weekend!

Hi Lloyd,

Did you just start your backlinking/SEO campaign? If you just started, expect to get inconsistent number of links. The inconsistency may also be due to your link being removed in the site or the site/page has become inactive.

You can try Traffic Travis to check your backlinks or Affilo Tools (in Affilorama Premium).

No Mary i have being busy with backlinking campaign now for almost a year. During that period my link count has steadily being rising then i changed my theme from the old Affilotheme to the new one. SO now i have noticed that my links are just all of the sudden getting less. I have also noticed that all my links that point to one page will dissapear. And Mary most of my links come from EZINE articles and other article directories, they are all still active and they have not bieng removed and they are not active.

Thanks

It should be link:domain.com. Would you mind sharing your site's URL here so we can check?

Also, Mary is right. If you recently just started backlinking, then it's possible not all your backlinks have been indexed.

Have a good weekend!

Try http://www.majesticseo.com/ or https://ahrefs.com/ or opensource. They will allow you to know how many backlinks you have.

External Backlinks
146

But last year(2012) you have 187 add that to your new link counts as if 2013

Hi Joe, thanks for the help, that is actually completely different from what i get at Webmaster tools.

Why should i add the 187 from 2012 to 146. Doesn't the 146 not mean that it is the total of all my links.

A bit confusing.

Thanks.

The tools that are given will detect your FRESH backlinks. But Google webmaster tools detect or update your backlink counts after a month to update your backlink counts. But majesticseo and ahrefs will update your backlink counts 24-72 hours.

If you click the link that i give to you if you notice there is (in the last 5 years.) That is your backlink last year and the big numbers under the external Backlinks is your backlink this year.

Hi lloydc1c1,

I suggest you monitor your backlinking efforts using Raven. You can put every active links in Raven so you can monitor which links are still active and which ones are not.
