 Cloaking is a search engine optimization (SEO) technique in which the content presented to the search engine spider is different from that presented to the user's browser. This is done by delivering content based on the IP addresses or the User-Agent HTTP header of the user requesting the page.

In other words it's a redirect with a different header than the page it's going too. If you hover over a link you should see where the destination of that page is in the lower left hand corner of your device. However, if it goes to a different page than what's showing it means the link has been cloaked.

 Cloaking is a black hat technique in Search Engine Optimization. When a website have two different instance for search engines and visitors then it is called cloaking.

 We don't recommend cloaking affiliate links as this is frowned upon by Google. What we recommend instead is to use redirects to hide your affiliate links. The method we teach requires you to have a website and the lesson that covers it is on this page: Creating Affiliate Redirects

 Many people confuse cloaking with redirecting and vice versa. Redirecting is what you should do with ALL of your affiliate links and if you use Wordpress it is super easy to do with a free plugin called Pretty Link.

 Hello everyone.
Just want to point out another old school cloaking trick for on page keyword stuffing that is NOT recomended.

By making keywords the same color as the background page, people will not see them but google will still recognize them. This was used to fool S.E.'s that the page was very relevant to those keyword phrases.

With Googles lattest Panda and Penguin updates, It can now recognize this and your site may be punished.

This is also used for showing the content base searches. For example, if you are searching for one keyword form Africa, the site's pages will be in African language to get the attention of users.. This kind of Cloaking is supported by search engines while first technique of cloaking is not recommended by Google.

Cloaking means to present different version of web page contents from most of search engines to search robots and human visitors based on their IP address.It returns web pages to search engine spiders that are different from the web pages that web surfers see.Cloaking is something you should be aware of, but avoid using for long term results of SEO.

 Clocking is one kind of SEO technique where you can open one site but it redirect to other site.It is a form of the doorway page technique.Usually it is considered as Black Hat SEO techniques. Because people do link cloaking affiliate links because they believe that search engine bots see them fingerprints and organic SEO rankings.

 Cloaking is a technique used by spammers that shows different data to spiders but display different information to viewers. It is the way to attract users to the content which is not according to their searched query. This technique comes under Black hat SEO technique.
