Dating Niche

The last couple of days i have been scanning different Niches. Online or offline. I found out that TV ads sometimes carries great value as well as documentaries, for niche ideas.

As i visited my mother in law, it came to my attention that she was logged on to a Online Dating service. And i figured " what a great niche to start out with" even my mother in law has gone online now:D. More and more often i see the older generation online.

After an hour or so of researching i figured out that the niche actually wasn't over competitive.( at least not to my knowledge)

So what do you guys think of the niche?

Is it worth investing in?

Thank you!

I think the online dating niche is a good one - there are lots of membership sites to promote with good affiliate programs like friendfinder.com. There isn't such a great range in Clickbank, although http://www.onlinepickupsecrets.com could be worth a look.

All the best,

Mark

Definitely worth a look. I know there are also info products to help people get better at online dating. Create a site that will attract lots of people who would use online dating and then promote both membership sites (like match.com or whatever) and info products.

you can also promote some of the books from meetyoursweet.com in this niche. Mark owns it and as always his products are great and he over delivers. I am promoting several of them myself and have even bought a few just for the bonuses he gives.

Thanks James, I'm a firm believer that you need to really give your customers value - and particularly in the dating niche where you're helping people with something that's really important to them.

With the dating niche you can also look at existing dating sites as an option - many of them offer profitable affiliate programs.

Sean,

I am currenly doing everthing that Sean, James and Mark has suggested above in this very niche.

I spent a large portion of my adult life as a "Serial Dater" hunting for the perfect guy. The hunt led me to venture into the land of Online Dating. I eventually found success after many good, bad and ugly experiences.

I decided to share my knowledge of the Online Dating game with other hopeful subscribers, to save them the "wear and tear" of cyberspace searching and hopefully to expedite their search for Mr./Ms. Right.

I produced a website and wrote a book, "You on Cyber Date" Where Love is One Click Away! My entire site is dedicated to helping others attract, qualify and meet fun and exciting people on the Internet.

I have been at it for 4-5 months now and at present am not converting. I plan to start a PPC campaign shortly to see if the keywords I am targeting are possibly "non-converting" keywords. I currently rank on page (2) for several of my keywords.

Its great to read this because I have datingadviceforwomen.net and a blog at datingadviceforwomen.net/findaman but I hardly make any money from it. Any advice on making it more saleable - I was actually thinking of just selling it. I noticed it is 4th on the first page for the keyword "dating advice for women" but maybe women don't type that in or something!
I have recently began to change it to online dating advice to see if adding that keyword works.

This is the first time I have gone out of my niche - I usually stick to personal growth and blogging/online business building but I really would like to make it in other niches.

Any advice welcome. Has anyone sold a blog before? I am wondering what the minimum I should make the blog turn around for me to be able to sell it. For some people maybe just having it up is enough.

Sorry if that was too many questions in one post :-)
