Clickbank Alternatives and Finding Other Affiliate Programs

I've been scanning through clickbank and it seems as if alot of their websites that they offer are those long strung out websites offering products that would look "iffy" to people that even know very little about dangerous sites and the internet in general.

Do you guys have any advice for a good product to start out with and some other sites that work like clickbank, but only with more reliable seeming products?

Thanks,
Dave

hi dave ... welcome to the forum. the products on clickbank are digital products but they are still big earners as indicated by the gravity figure that tells you how well a particular product is selling, plus most of these products offer a full refund so that should give people peace of mind. another place you can try is commission junction.

however you may be more interested in selling tangible products, perhaps becoming an ebay retailer using a product finder service such as Salehoo.

I'll 2nd Commission Junction if you feel comfortable recommending physical products. With physical products you can find great long tail keywords when you get into the model numbers of that particular product.

I've also found a lot of interesting programs at http://www.affiliatescout.com/

It's a directory of multiple affiliate programs, so some a Clickbank, some are CJ, Linkshare and others. But you get to search by product category and it gives you lots to choose from.

Dave,

Scanning through Clickbank is not the way to go. Clickbank isn't going to do any quality control on merchants' products and neither will other affiliate networks. Many successful Internet marketers recommend starting with Clickbank, but you need to know how to find profitable products. You can listen to a 1:30 audio of Byron Walker telling just how he got to over $1,000 a day in under 3 months by focusing on profitable Clickbank products -go to http://lowhangingloot.com

Mark just wrote a nice blog post and has given some suggested alternatives to Clickbank

Do you have any others?

Why not try Amazon and sell physical products rather than products from clickbank. I know their commission is not that great but if you feel that clickbank products are "iffy" then go for the physical products.
