A raffle
Find a prize or a few prizes
Like an iPad, iPod or something everyone will want, maybe 3 prizes.
1) iPad
2) iPod
3) Purple Flamingo
Then sell raffle tickets for $3 - $5 or something like that.
Just makes sure you do the math first. You don't want to get stuck paying more than you earned.
So maybe terms: prizes will be given once "all tickets are sold" (no risk), or "on date x or when $xxx is raised, whichever is later" (no risk).
But make sure you have school backing on it before starting.
