The Slave Cycle (briefly covered in the interview between Gideon & Mark Joyner) is the state that most people in the industrialized world live in. It’s the cycle where we perform work we don’t love just because we need to feed, clothe and house ourselves. When we’re finished at the end of the day we’re tired, humiliated and crushed. We sit in front of the television and it tells us that in order to be happy, we need to buy lots of things. (Of course this isn’t true.) The television also makes us engage in harmful activities by promoting these activities as being things that will make us happy -- for instance, by showing images of slim, happy people eating junk food and drinking alcohol. It’s very subtle and affects us on a subconscious level. The things you watch on TV shows reinforce what the advertisers want you to think.
