I'm not telling you this to brag, or to give you some rags to riches B.S. But I feel that once you know a little bit more about how I got to where I am today, you'll realize that I don't have any special advantages that YOU don't have. And that you can achieve the same type of success.
Back in 1999 I definitely did not have much in the way of cash to invest in expensive learning products. I also did not know much at all about creating web sites .
I simply saw something that worked, and then copied it.
At the time I was studying at Canterbury University and working as a pizza delivery boy to pay my way. I also played a fair bit of squash, and while hanging out at a squash tournament with my friend Charlie he mentioned something that changed my world forever.
He told me that he'd been playing around on the internet and had built a website on a free hosting site called "Geocities".
For kicks, he put up a banner on that site linking to another site that sold posters.
Here's the amazing part... Just for having this little website with a simple banner link he was now getting checks in the mail every month - for $50!
Not enough to retire on, sure. But to me that was the same as 10 solid hours of delivering pizzas.
I absolutely had to try this. So I asked Charlie if he'd mind if I built a site like his to see if it would work for me, and he said
"Go ahead. There are plenty of posters out there to promote."
Oh man. I couldn't wait to get home from that tournament!

Over the next few months I built a couple of celebrity websites promoting posters – and I added a banner for a dating site too, just to experiment.
These sites weren't exactly masterpieces but they worked. And soon I started getting checks in the mail too.
The great thing was... as Charlie said... there were lots of different markets out there. To make more money, all I had to do was keep replicating the process.
I got one website earning $50/month, then built another one. Then I was making $100/month.
Then I built more... and pretty soon I was earning more than enough to live on while I completed my studies.
