How do I set file permissions on Affilorama Premium Hosting using the chmod command via Scheduled Task?

You can change file permissions through the use of the chmod command via shell. But since we do not support shell access as of the moment, you can issue a shell command through the use of the Scheduled Task instead.

To do that please follow the steps below:

  1. Click on Scheduled Tasks under the Web Tools section of your Affilorama Premium Hosting control panel.

  1. Enter the command below, replacing yourdomain.com with your actual domain name and testdirectory with the actual directory name as well as 644 with the appropriate mode number, into the Run this command box.

/bin/chmod 644 /home/sites/yourdomain.com/public_html/testdirectory/*.php

  1. Click on the Test Command button. Please note that the command changes ALL the PHP files inside the testdirectory folder (or the folder that you indicated in the command). If you need to modify other file types, please modify the file type accordingly. Please double-check the syntax especially the path, the filename and the permission BEFORE clicking on the Test Command button.

Note: DO NOT save this command since you are just using the Scheduled Task page to run a single command and not a re-occuring CRON job.
