Another method you may want to consider is the meta refresh. It looks like this: Put it on a blank page (make sure there is no other code on the page). Then you can send your traffic to your page, and your page will redirect to the affiliate link. You may want to add a no index meta tag to the page so the search engines don't index that page.

Will a blank forwarding page harm my site's ranking?

Thanks Valcine for that. Appreciate your comment. I've been trying to find a way around the problem, and think I may have come up with a solution. Adding the meta tag tells the search engines not to index that page and not to spider any links from that page. I'm going to try that - unless anyone has a better solution...

Will a blank forwarding page harm my site's ranking?

11th June, 2011 - Posted by David Withington

This page is blank (apart from the words "one moment please") and simply forwards the traffic to my Clickbank affiliate link. I'm concerned that Google will penalise my website because of: (a) the blank page. (b) the bounce rate -...

Thanks Mark. Very interesting how things have changed over the years, and as a result the different approach. After going on our first cruise, I created a website called How To Cruise. It was aimed specifically at people who had never been on a cruise before and were looking for basic...

Thanks Sam for the in-depth report! Much appreciated. About a week ago, I bought an EMD for DentistWigan and created a web site. Within the week it was on page 1 of Google for the search term "Dentist Wigan". I'm trying to understand why. Maybe it's because... 1. It's not...

Just installed it on the iPad. I like its ability to sync. Another useful app is Evernote. With that, I can send a note even by email and it's sync'd to all the devices, so never gets overlooked. The notes can be as long as you like. How we rely on our apps to organise our life....

Great advice. I listen to seminars, interviews and all sorts of teaching on MP3 whilst in the gym, out walking or doing odd jobs. It helps me to contantly learn stuff without having to find more time.

Good information. It's important that things work and the customer gets a good experience. Unfortunately, this doesn't appear to be happening here. The Facebook tips link in section 4 doesn't work. The Twitter ecourse signup is no longer active. I learnt a lot from the experience of how a...
