The Google Slap on Affiliate Marketing

29th July, 2009 - Posted by Lawrence Stainbank

Hi, I've just bought Commission Ritual in which the author - to paraphrase him - says that a hoplink from your site to clickbank product is a very bad idea and links, of this type, should always be cloaked. He claims that Google does not like affiliate links at all. I would be very interested If one of the AB team would comment. Lawrence

Mark, Thanks for focusing on this problem. I have just bought Commission Ritual and, as you know, the author believes, very strongly, that all affiliate links should be cloaked. Can this be done fairly easily - I'm using XsitePro. Regards Lawrence
