Khalid on the web

I'm a computer sys admin who worked in IT for entirely too long! Like many others here, am looking to break out of 'working for the man' and gain some freedom for myself.

 

How can I apply my affiliate links to my pages....

David - If your site is live with the problem, perhaps let us know what the URL is so that someone else can take a look at the HTML source to get a better idea of what's going on. Oh yes, thanks for reminding me @sonitin. I've never used the live chat, but the regular e-mail support has been great. I even had one of their guys e-mailing and testing stuff for me from his phone on his way home! Now that's support.

Hi Jesse - client can mean more than just web browsers. There are programs and pieces of software than can function as web browsers to go out and pull down web pages in an automated fashion. Why? @slay2k - this sounds a lot like the (free) Firebug extension for Firefox. It lets you muck around directly with your HTML and/or CSS, live in the browser, although there is no drag-and-dropping of page elements. The Chrome browser also has a lot of built-in web development tools. Also very useful are the web-dev bookmarklets from Squarefree...

Why Should Keep Web Hosting Backups?

I'd go a step further and say this: If you do anything with computers, then you had better be thinking of 2 things first: backups and security! Take that from an IT guy who has seen a lot of disasters, and a lot of them mitigated by good backups. ;-) Cheers!
