Help with "siloing" pages please!

30th June, 2011 - Posted by John Perkins

Hops per visitors. My stats. What do you think?

30th June, 2011 - Posted by John Perkins

That does sound like a pretty good percentage clicking through, but as Bill said if your visitors are not going to be comfortable with buying the product when they get there it's effort wasted. If there are no Greek CB products is there perhaps another way to monetize the site? Perhaps get them on your list, and when they know you they may be...

Getting hops but no sales

29th June, 2011 - Posted by John Perkins

You mention that you checked the email after subscribing "but it is a direct link , not my affiliate link". Did you go through to the order form to check it out? Scroll down to the bottom when you get to the Clickbank form and you will see Aff="yourIDhopefully" or otherwise. Not many vendors will strip your ID but we have...

domain .co.uk or .com

29th June, 2011 - Posted by John Perkins

In our experience both server location and tld come into the equation to a degree. For sites targeting the usa we use "standard" US based hosting, and buy the .com .org etc. For sites going after our local UK audience we use UK based servers, and buy .co.uk. Ranking a .com in the UK isn't too difficult though, the server location...

Help with "siloing" pages please!

Hi, we are putting a site together for a friend, and using Wordpress, 'cos it's all we know! But we've run into a problem ans don't know the best way around it. All the pages of the site are going to be "Pages" not "posts" as we want a static site similar to an Affiloblueprint site. Some of the pages naturally fall under...

So good to hear that, thanks Fara. Not being a news watcher only just heard about this happening again, terrible. Our thoughts are with all those affected, affilorama members or not.

50.49% Bounce Rate

Hi Capricorn, don't forget that if they are leaving through your affiliate links that's the whole point! Like Kevin we have found no correlation between a sites bounce rate and profitability. In fact I don't think we a single one as low as 50% so well done to you :-) Jillian & John

The Google Blog Network Massacre - Blog Networks Deindexed

30th March, 2012

I think Justin was saying that if the BMR links were simply devalued he would have expected to settle back to his previous #5 ranking. We have heard this from a few sources, it appears that in this case it is more than a simple devalue-ing of the BMR backlinks. Don't panic! Most people have...

Google Panda Update Tips

Thanks for the precis, Mark. So much misinformation and hysteria going about after the shake-up! Luckily, only one of our sites was affected, and we would have to admit it fails on a few counts! Most of our sites saw a nice bump in rankings and traffic, anything that drives out a few more spam...

The Biggest Secret to Online Success

Very interesting post James, challenging line of thought! Fortunately for those of us not gifted with relationship skills SEO is still pretty effective. Now I'm off to look at a couple of under-performing sites while this is still fresh on my mind :-)

Six Golden Rules of Internet Marketing Success

Excellent post! Taking concerted action is something we are still struggling with after 18 months. The "25 things to do today and only 24 hours" syndrome can become overwhelming, it's so important to choose a focused task and stick to it till it's done. The post-it notes used to work...

Bravo Aletta!! Took me a long time to stop being "snobby" about sitebuilding and just go with what works, it's a lesson that stands repeating :-)

Aww, I've come over all misty! He's a very special little man! Congrats Mark and Michelle, and Welcome to the not so "wee" Benjamin :-D I know it's been said already but do take the time out to enjoy these first few months. It's a simply magical time you will never have again, savour...

Top 6 hurdles for an affiliate marketing newbie

Great post Kim! So many of us struggle with these things at the start, but it's so worth going on with when you start to get results. And to Daniel - 'm not sure why you think that you have to be in the top 10? It's a very large pie, and after a year we are nowhere near top 10, but still taking...
