Too Much Information vs. Customer Value

9th May, 2013 - Posted by Grady Pruitt

I'll let you in on another secret that I've been learning from a couple of podcasts I've been listening to... Don't be afraid to give away "everything". Instead, focus on providing the best experience for those who consume your content as you can (whether that content be written, audio, or video). If you are consistently providing...

Page not showing in Google results

8th May, 2013 - Posted by Grady Pruitt

If it was indexed a few months ago, I'd be willing to bet that more than likely it still is, but it's just so far down you're not seeing it. Google is constantly changing its algorithm (we only hear of just a handful of the ones they really do), and some of them really hurt at times. That's one reason I know my brother often talks about not...

Lloyd, try searching for your site domain name. If that pulls up, then you should be indexed, and it would just be a matter of Google not seeing that you're relevant for that term. Also, I just did a search for that exact phrase in quotes, and it pulled up 890,000 hits. I've noticed that when Google has so many results, they start flaking...

Tax for affiliate income?

6th May, 2013 - Posted by Grady Pruitt

Actually, I was thinking that you'd probably get a better answer to this question by going to a local CPA. They could probably let you know what you need to account for where you are at.

One of the things I like about Evernote is that I have it on both my computer and on my phone and it will sync between the two. Definitely makes "remembering" easy that way for all sorts of things. Plus, you can clip web pages, and a lot of other things as well. There are a number of apps (both free and paid) that work with...

Too many ideas - jumping from one idea to another

5th May, 2013 - Posted by Grady Pruitt

I have to admit that my attention is pulled in 20 different directions at any given moment, which has been 90% of my problem from day 1. (And don't even get me started on that bright shiny object off to the left over there.... Okay... who just looked to their left? :D ) In spite of all this, I think a few things that may be in my favor (as...

I'm in a link juice state of mind

I think you hit the nail on the head with that last bit. It takes time to build and become successful. Even the "overnight successes" have a lot of work before they rise to "stardom". Keep at it, and you can too!

How to Reduce Your Bounce Rate the Easy Way

8th July, 2012

I think I might need to work more on inserting internal linking to my other pages in my content. Of the things you have listed here, I think that's the thing I need to do a better job of. Something else that can have a profound effect is your theme design. I remember a few years ago, my...

"Piggybacking" for Affiliate Success

2nd July, 2012

I hadn't thought of "piggybacking", but this idea of a "call to action" definitely makes a lot of sense. I know one of the reasons my EZA articles generated traffic for me as consistently as they did was because I always had a CTA link in my bio, though I got away from using...

One Shocking Secret to Beat Google Penguin

6th June, 2012

I believe my brother, James has said (and I recently heard confirmed by Matt Cutts in one of his videos) that keyword density is one of the most overrated stats out there. Yet I still hear people talk about how you have to have your keyword in as much as 5% of your test. That's 5 times per 100...

What's Keeping You From Success? Procrastination, Laziness or Bad Advice?

30th April, 2012

I just came out of a bout of procrastination, and there's only one thing missing here: ACTION. It's great to have a plan, but if you fail to take action on that plan, you're still not going anywhere. Great post, Smuigal!

4 Reasons Forums are Beneficial To Building Your Online Brand

30th April, 2012

I guess I need to find some of these "buyers" forums :D Seriously, though, so many people run into forums and just start posting links, then run away, never to return. Those who do this are going about things the wrong way. Interacting with the forums is the best way to take full...

Great post, Sam! I know there are a few here at Affilorama that can do graphics. In addition to eLance, you could also use stock photo sites, like iStockphoto, to sell your images. (Great for those into photography as well!) I haven't tried this (yet), so I can't speak from experience, but...
