Clickbank - US tax requirements for non-residents

23rd September, 2016 - Posted by Greg Taylor

I have been earning affiliate income from Clickbank for several years now and have been paying income tax in New Zealand on it (I am a NZ citizen). However, I have now become concerned that I might be required to file a US tax return for this income as Clickbank does not withhold any tax on this income. I know that Amazon withholds 5% tax on...

Google Webmaster Tools

10th February, 2013 - Posted by Greg Taylor

I have not checked Google Webmaster Tools for months now. But I have just gone in now to look at my backlinks and it says I only have one back now from one site. Last time I looked I had links from over a hundred sites. The site still has a page rank of 3 though. What is going on?

Does Affilorama Really Work?

5th December, 2012 - Posted by Greg Taylor

Donald, I can assure you that the stuff works if you work it. But a couple of huge pieces of advice I have to give you are to focus on one site first until it is successful, and don't rely on SEO. These days it is very hard to make any money by throwing up a bunch of quick sites using outsouced articles and then ranking them with low quality...

Link Building After Penguin/Disavow Tool?

5th November, 2012 - Posted by Greg Taylor

I would not touch the disavoid tool. It is basically admitting that you have been spamming. Think for a moment - why would Google have created it? It is not for the benefit of webmasters who have been involved in questionable linking practices. They don't care about you; they are doing for their benefit, not yours. The best way to get rid of...

Do you know any FREE email autoresponder that I can use?

11th October, 2012 - Posted by Greg Taylor

It sounds like you are trying to get an exact match domain and use that to rank highly for a particular keyword. This strategy doesn't really work anymore. In fact, Google just introduced a new penalty for low quality exact match domains, about a week ago. See http://thestartcompany.com/online-visib ... ain-update

Do you know any FREE email autoresponder that I can use?

11th October, 2012 - Posted by Greg Taylor

You need to first look at why you didn't make any sales through using Aweber for 6 months. Did your emails suck or did you just not have many subscribers? There is no point in doing more of what wasn't working.

Do you know any FREE email autoresponder that I can use?

Your thinking is wrong here. You have to treat this like a business - not a hobby. A service like Aweber only costs $1 for the first month and then $19 per month after that (for under 500 subscribers). And to make $19 that is only one sale for a month. If you don't think you can make that (with two sites!!!) then you are probably in the wrong...

Holes in Clickbank's upcoming Marketplace Ratings

6th November, 2012

I think that if vendors are responsible for what affiliates do, they should have a full set of statistics on each affiliate and be able to "fire" those who have bad refund/chargeback rates.

Is Google Now Penalizing Exact Match Domains?

SEO Blog Commenting 101

18th April, 2012

Not to take away from what you've said, but I've found real SEO value in posting my links on authority blogs (where most posts get a page rank of 4-6 when the PR updates occur) that have absolutely nothing to do with my niche and which are nofollow at the same time.

Do-follow Links vs No-follow Links - Does it really matter?

3rd March, 2012

I have absolutely no doubt that nofollow links can be extremely valuable, especially if they are from a high PR page. I have been able to get to around position 18 in Google for a 90,000 per month keyword with ONLY about 6-7 nofollow links from the blogs of ONE authority website. These blogs...
