What do you mean by "conversion rate"?

22nd April, 2012 - Posted by Johnny Mac

Hi James, Lots of good stuff in your response, so thanks for that. I definitely see the importance of connecting with your prospects and building trust (before trying to sell them on something). I just don't know how much this applies when visitors are just looking for a cheap price on a physical product. I "kinda" thought my job...

What do you mean by "conversion rate"?

Hey guys, Thanks for your input. The more I think about it the more I think you really do need to "build a list" and build a relationship with your prospects in order to feel confident about making a full-time living online. The misleading courses I'm talking about advocate this model: (1) Rank at the top of Google for "buyer...

What do you mean by "conversion rate"?

Thanks for your response James. So for you "conversion rate" = number of sales / number of clicks If there are 100 clicks on your link and 1 sale, you'd say you have a 1% conversion rate. What happens to links if you change the URL?

17th December, 2011 - Posted by Johnny Mac

Thanks James. Yes, I read that the platinum seo plugin does it automatically. The funny thing is that I only have the all in one seo pack installed and that seems to have done the redirect automatically. Or maybe my version of wordpress did it, I don't know. All I know is that if I type in the old URL it changes to the new URL and takes me...

Thanks Oliver. I just hope the search engines will understand that links pointing to the old address should now count in favour of my new URL!

What happens to links if you change the URL?

15th December, 2011 - Posted by Johnny Mac

Thanks Oliver. The funny thing is that when I type in the old page address (the URL the page had originally), I get to taken to the page with the new address. I guess you'd say that it "redirects." But in that case it has happened automatically, because I certainly didn't set up any any "301 redirect"! (wouldn't have a...
