Simple:

301 redirect = permanently moved to a different location

302 redirect means temporarily moved.

These redirects are a way to tell Google whether to still include old page or replace the old link and use the new page for ranking.

301 redirects define as permanently moved, is a redirect that carries and distributes in an absolute manner.
302 status code means Found or temporarily moved. This redirect doesn’t pass the link value to the new location.

301 - Moved permanently to a new location. The client/browser should not try to request the original location but use the new location from now on.

302 - Temporarily located somewhere else, and the client/browser should continue requesting the original URL.

When you set up 301 permanent redirects, the website is able to maintain its search rankings and prevent any plunge in search traffic. But, in the case of 302 redirects, all your efforts you put to improve the ranking are wasted.

301 Redirection means that page has moved to new location permanently. While 302 redirection is the temporary which does not pass link value to new location.
