Why does EzineArticles change my html to do not follow?

Greetings Affilorama People~

When I type in my html code for the anchor text in the body of my article, it looks like this:

<a href="http://www.mywebsite"target="_blank">myanchortext</a>

After I've previewed the article and go back to the form, it looks like this:

<a target="_new" rel="nofollow" href="http://www.mywebsite.com">myanchortext</a>

Why oh why do they make this change and why is it nofollow?

Please help!

I've never actually tried to put a link in the body of the article, but I believe EZA allows you to have 2 "self-serving" links in the resource box (dofollow) and 2 "non-self-serving" links in the body (nofollow).

At least it used to be that way :)

Dear Clayton~
That makes sense! I guess I should go and read their author guidelines again. Thank you so much for the quick response!
