Big Earthquake In Japan too

Not long after ChristChurch was hit by an earthquake and Brisbane flooded, Japan has just been hit by one of the biggest history on Earth just a few hours ago:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-pacific-12709598

The increase in natural disasters over these few months is somewhat distressing and worrying, considering the fact that most of them are of abnormal magnitude and the largest since recent years...

Is the world coming to an end? :(

This is really worrying. Seeing the tweeters, saying good by to families. Something needs to be done. Google has jus released a people finder app.

I suddenly remembered the movie 2012. And so during my son's confirmation mass today (we are catholic) I prayed fervently for the well-being of everyone all over the world.

I've been watching the news the whole weekend, and the effect is really devastating. Maybe it's the earth's way of healing herself after everything mankind has done. On a good note, it's nice to see everyone worldwide extend their hands for help....Let's pray for everyone affected by the earthquake and the tsunamis....

It was terrible seeing the news about what happened to Japan. I pray for the soul of the lives lost, for the well being and safety of the ones who survived, for the ones struggling to get water and food.

I heard that a 7+ magnitude earthquake is about to hit Japan again. I hope they are mistaken. God forbid that 7+ earthquake happens, cause if it does...the positive outlook on the state of the 3 Nuclear plants that have lost its cooling system, will be very grim. A nuclear meltdown is the last thing Japan needs right now.

Let's keep praying people.

I'm absolutely dumbfounded for the second time in a month. Again, my heart goes out to Japan.

Watching that wave come in was just incredible - as Fara said, very 2012. Until the camera panned in and you saw the cars and the people and the realization hit that this wasn't CGI, this was real.

Our thoughts are with them and we are praying with every part of our soul that those reactors hold together.

Watching nature flex like this makes you feel pretty darn small in the scheme of things.

I have been looking around to see how I can help and found these on a Lionbridge Technologies web page:

L10nbridge wrote:The American Red Cross is accepting donations for Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami relief. Individuals can also text "REDCROSS" to 90999 to donate $10 from their mobile phone.

Save the Children is responding to the needs of children and families affected by the earthquake and its aftermath. Donations can be made to Save the Children's Japan Earthquake Tsunami Children in Emergency Fund.

International Medical Corps is responding to the health needs of the disaster's victims.

World Vision has announced mobilization in response to the earthquake and tsunami.

NetHope, a collaboration of the world's leading humanitarian response organizations, is mobilizing efforts to support aid agencies responding in the region.

Mercy Corps is working with its partner Charity Peace Winds Japan to accept donations.

AidMatrix is working with its partners to connect resources and material for various response efforts. Needs for in-kind and transportation donations are being assessed and will be posted to the AidMatrix network as they become available.

Tokyo Electric Power Co, TEPCO, said 10,400 tonnes of low-level radioactive water, left by the tsunami, had been pumped back into the sea in order to free up storage capacity for highly contaminated water from the reactors.http://uk.reuters.com/article/2011/04/1 ... =worldNews
