What's the Best e-Book Cover Software?

Like the title says, I'm looking for an e-book cover software program. I'm looking for a good quality one--not just the cheapest one.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Ryan

Photoshop is what I use.

If you just want one cover or something, it's probably best to just hire a freelancer to do it. I can't imagine it costing more than $50 (probably much less).

You can look at Box Shot 3D too, aside from MyeCoverMaker. I haven't tried Box Shot 3D, but I heard good reviews about it. I've tried MyeCoverMaker before and it was easy to use.

Hope that helps. Have a good day!

I love Cover Action Pro. It works like Photoshop and it also comes with a lot of ebook covers/styles as well.

Hey Ryan, I agree with Clayton, Photoshop is all you need. Action scripts make it super easy and you will get pro results. And no worries on costs, you should find a few free ones, if not send me a PM and I'll direct you.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone.

About Photoshop....I was actually going to buy it, but Adobe has moved to cloud-based programs only. ....you can't buy CS7! You have to sign up and pay a monthly subscription fee, which is fine if you are professional designer, but it's no good for me. I'll just stick to using Gimp!

I ended up using myebookmaker, and I'm really happy with it. You can pay $5 for each cover you make and download, or you can get a monthly subscription. I got a one-month subscription for $15, and I've been making tons of stuff.

If you have time, check out my sales page and let me know what you think. All of the software boxes, ebook covers, cell phone pics, iMac pics were done with myebookmaker.

Cheers!

Ryan

Hi Ryan,

The sales page is impressive! It looks professional and it presents its key points well. The eBook cover is looking excellent too. Nice! :)

Have a good weekend!

Thanks for the update on your progress Ryan!

The only thing that I would change on your media graphics would be your video case; I think that instead of wrapping your image around the case, you would get a better result by making your canvas wider to fit to the curved case and put the main image (like your book covers) to the right... if that makes sense :)

For anyone else watching this thread thinking about Photoshop;

You can still purchase CS6 which is a desktop version. I think that adobe is going to find selling a subscription based solution a tough selling in the photo editing market. Most designers and artists only upgrade as needed, that hurts adobe's bottom line so they offer this continuity model. We'll have to see how the market responds. I'm thinking Corel is going to jump on this opportunity to grab some market share.

Hi Ryan,

I love what you did. My only comment on your site is you need to perhaps widen your margins so the content won't be too crowded in the middle and the length won't be too long for the homepage.

Some content are not properly aligned like what I see here-> 4. Access to Our Online Audio/Visual Study Pages. You may need to fix that as well :)

I hope that helps.

Thanks Cecille and marytordecilla.....nice of you to say! Also, Mary, are you using Firefox? In all browsers I've tested everything looks great....except Firefox...on Mac and Windows! It's driving me crazy!!!! It seems that, in firefox, the picture is not being sized properly...and that's messing everything up! I think I'm going to shrink the pics in Gimp and them upload them again....instead of just resizing them in WordPress.

Promocode, you're exactly right about CS6, and I agree with you that a lot of people are going to be annoyed about Adobe's new product/pricing. I'm still thinking about buying CS6. I live in Thailand, and I can get the creative suite--photoshop, indesign, illustrator and acrobat for about USD 150.00. It's cheap, but, still, why buy a product that will never be upgraded...especially because I really like Gimp?

Also, if anyone is making their own product, Clickbank has said that I cannot put values on the individual pieces of the product unless they are really for sale at that amount (FTC rules).

I really like the strategy of putting the price on each piece and then showing a discounted "package price," so I think I'll make a sales page for each product. Nobody will buy them, but at least I can keep my sales strategy. They also said that I have to be able to offer proof for those testimonials. ...not too difficult, I'll just go out and ask for testimonials from people I know (and have them send me an email with their testimonials--that I wrote).

Cheers,

Ryan

Hi Ryan,

Yes I'm using Firefox. Have you checked your plugins? It may be because of plugin incompatibility.

No photoshop needed. No download. Online solution with over 200 designs. Instantly create cool 3D covers. Spin them to any angle. Save with transparent background.

It's very easy. And it only costs $9.99 for UNLIMITED covers. It's a winner.
