Started my new site...looking for suggestions

Whats up guys. I've read a ton of posts and suggestions. This site is the best from what I've read so far. So here it goes....After 2 years of building my resources I've finally launched my website. http://www.itsmadrighthere.com . The site has been live for about a month. Just started my first Google Adword campaign. I'm looking for suggestions to create traffic. I'm 6 days into the adword campaign and not 1 sale yet..... I'm not an internet expert but learning every day. Thanks for any help. I know you guys are the best so your suggestions will be taken seriously. Thanks again. Later.

Yeah, the site is not loading here as well.

But I wonder what niche are you targeting with such a unspecific domain name?

Jay,
Real nice looking, @waken looks like we have ourselves a patriot. I think Ray is looking for the USA proud patriot, there's alot of "made in USA" in the tags. And in the posts.

#disclaimer: I don't profess to being an Internet squillionaire, but computers and the Internet pay for my mortgage. So I think I have atleast half a clue =p

Jay, do you know the framework for your site? Is it joomla backend?

I'd say there are some immediate tweaks you could make to improve your SEO, if you are looking for general feedback on the look and feel, I think you've hit the mark. If you are looking for input to tweak your google results, then you should share a little more info.

If you have access to the meta tags on the articles and some spare time, make an effort to add a relevant description as well as keywords. The same can apply to your images. Your categories are not "search engine friendly" meaning they don't carry keywords that the bots can use to see the relevance of your content.

How's Adwords going for you? If you are spending for minimal results, i personally would hold off on Adwords until you can understand your visitors. Bit you can learn from the adds being clicked to improve your own site.

What tools do you use to track your site?
I'd suggest a bare minimum of the following:
traffictravis
Google Analytics
Adwords keyword tool
I also like to use Whois.domaintools.com for a different angle

All the best, post some more information if you are seeking more relevant feedback

See I knew I was at the right place..... You guys are great.

I'm using Joomla and Virtumart as my shopping cart. The idea of this site is "Buy American". My niche market is the American consumer looking to buy and support the American Economy. No disrespect intended to our friends and consumers all over the world, this is just my way of contributing locally and helping fellow manufacturers get their great products in the hands of local people. I'm currently using Google Analytics for my traffic info. I'm averaging 40 -50 visits pr/day. My bounce rate is averaging around 45% to 60% depending on the day. This is terrible I know....Suggestions??? I'm in my first week of a Google Adword campaign. Haven't sold 1 item. Not sure why.....Price to high, web not looking professional enough??? Please explain what you mean by the Category not being search-able. This sounds very important. Suggestions? Again thanks for your valuable input.

Hi Jay!

Joomla has the ability to change how your articles are seen. From memory you will find it in the Administrator control panel under system settings. It's just a check box for "Search Engine Friendly" or something similar. Depending on the host, you may also need to rename one of the files to enable URL re-writes.

To maximize the benefit of this, you should use keywords in your category names. To strengthen your keywords, create some "shoppers" and complete some reviews of the products they purchased. Again try and squeeze some keywords into the reviews, but don't go overboard. These still need to be "believable".

By nature, a shopping cart site has less text and thus less keywords so reviews, descriptions and meta data can be used to tune your on-page SEO results.

Use TrafficTravis to take a snapshot of your website as it is today, before you start any work so you can track the progress of your effort. What is your sitemap like? Have you updated it recently?

Have a think about the structure of your site description and the keywords for the index page, you can tune these more for your product range rather that the "concept" know what I mean?

Good luck, you have made a terrific start.

I got a server not found for your site.
6 days is quite little even with a budget on adwords.

From what I have read about google adwords they won't like your site because there are no articles just products. Google likes articles about your products, like telling how it is made or what the used of the product is. They want people to be able to read something about the product. I have seen sites with 8 pages of articles that were ok that got slapped because the content wasn't very good. now did google read any of what was on the pages Heck no they never read anything the think there computers can do everything, I think you site is set up nicely but without articles on the site I wouldn't run any adwords ads.
