Read only if you need to be inspired.

This has nothing to do with internet marketing (except maybe an example of something going viral) but if you're ever tempted to give up, or people mock your dreams, or you think you're too old, or (insert your own personal baggage here), or you just like to watch something inspiring, check this out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9lp0IWv8QZY

I'm such a girl, that totally made me tear up.

While we're posting motivational vids, here's one of my favorites. Actually it's more anti-motivational than anything. Watch this if you're sick of people telling you how you're "ruining your life" by taking a stab at things.

That was rather profound video Aletta. A lot of people fall in that trap and miss out on so much.

Okay I didn't really get that video LOL

Maybe because I don't know anything about music or notes. Or maybe im just slow. They should of used pie as an example instead of music.

I watched it twice already. Please translate Aletta.

Hahaha, well.

He's saying that as a society we have this expectation that we're always working towards this fantastic "end" -- like, we go to school, go to university, spend all this time and effort tying to be "successful".

And once we get to the point where someone might say "that guy is successful".... what do you do then? What do you do once you've got the great job and lots of cash and all that stuff? Are you any different?

You've spent half your life trying to get there. You've been stuck in classes, and you've sacrificed chances to look around, and you've NOT done a whole lot of cool things because you're trying to be "successful".

And then suddenly you're "successful" and you're no different, really. You don't feel any different. But you've wasted half your life getting to that point and discovering that.

He's saying that in music, we're delighted by the WHOLE thing. Not just the end of the song. And we should feel the same way about our lives. Don't get stuck with the idea that you're trying to reach the "successful" part as quickly as you can. It's a hoax. That's not the point of life. The point is to be living each moment.

It's a useful thing to think of when you have parents or friends or whatever saying "Why are you giving up your studies to become an affiliate marketer?" because they're only thinking that you're not going to achieve this traditional "goal".

Personally, I like to travel. And I find it very frustrating when I meet people who say "ooh, I could never travel for more than three weeks. I'd lose my job, and then I'd lose my pension plan, and my health insurance..." as if the pension plan and insurance are the entire point of your existence.

It's not the point. The point is to "sing" and "dance" throughout your entire life. Not just when you achieve that supposed "goal".

Now I sound like an awful hippy. Thanks! :P

I love both of these videos. I'm also such a girl, Aletta, as I've watched Susan Boyle several times and have teared up each time. Sadly, the second video is so true. Time to get off the treadmill!

Thanks! I needed that. In every person, there is a dream. We just sometimes forget it and wander until someone helps us awaken.
