On Page SEO Problem & Question I Have

Hello Guys,

Its a simple question, but yet I don't understand how to do it! hehe

OK so marks site..

http://www.wowblackbook.com/

The main page is from the article/post of World of Warcraft Strategy Guide.

My problem is, I have an article that I want in the main page of my website without it changing its SEO title on the page when I click on the article on the left panel.

I hope I made sense,

I would appreciate your help=]

I am not quite sure what you are wanting to do. Would you care to explain in more detail? Also, what are you using to build your site?

Hey Fara,

I'll try it this time with more detail..

I'm currently using the AB 3.0 theme.

I want to know how to fix this problem on my site basically..

For example..

Marks site http://www.wowblackbook.com/ is shown to have the main article World of Warcraft Strategy. If you look on your browser the title tag is World of Warcraft Strategy Guide as well.

Since going to the main index page shows the article World of Warcraft Strategy I decided to click on the exact same article on the left panel which is named Word of Warcraft Strategy Guide and if you look on your browser http://www.wowblackbook.com/ is still the main index along with the title tags and everything else remains the same.

My problem is (assuming this is my site). If you go to http://www.wowblackbook.com/ everything looks great! If you click on the same article on the left panel, which is World of Warcraft Strategy Guide I get an extension like - "http://www.wowblackbook.com/world-of-warcraft-strategy-guide" and the title tags also change which is what I don't want since this is my main page anyway, does it make sense?

How does Mark keep it the same?

I went through the lessons and everything, but I cant seem to find the part to fix it.

If your homepage is a page and not a post, the link that will be displayed on the address bar will not have words after the '/' (ie wowblackbook.com and not wowblackbook.com/world-of-warcraft-strategy-guide.php)

Set a page as the homepage via Settings > Reading. Click "A static page" and select the page as front page.

wowblackboook.com was built using xsitepro and we can't really have exactly the same options with a site built with wordpress but I have a work around for what you want.

After adding the article either as a page or post and setting it as your homepage, go to Appearance > Theme Options > Sidebar and enter the following code into the Sidebar Custom Content (top) field

Replace domain.com with your actual domain name and Article Title with the actual title of your article.

Note: If you added your article as a post, make sure to first exclude it from the sidebar by entering its ID into the Exclude any posts from the sidebar? field on the Sidebar tab of Theme Options.

Another note: This work around will be good only if the Sidebar List Type is set to List All.

Cheers :)
