My review website - Am I going in the right direction?

Hi everyone,

I’ve just signed up today and would appreciate some feedback on a site I’ve already started. I’ve been researching and building my new site for about 6 weeks part-time, spending about 5-10 hours a week on it. I’m actually an I.T. consultant, so the technical side of things is no problem, but I’ve got a lot to learn on Internet marketing, hence I’ve signed up to affilorama. I’ve already subscribe to 2 other members-only affiliate marketing websites which are both good in their right, but wish I’d found this site first as the video tutorials are fantastic and just what I needed from day one!

Anyway, my site is a business opportunity review website called http://www.clicksense.net. I’ve already added 4 reviews, and a default web page with google adsense on it. I’ve also signed up to clickbank so I can hopefully generate cash from people clicking the links on the reviews.

I’ve also set-up some generic adwords campaigns to various clickbank products, and I made 2 sales in the first 24 hours. However, that was 3 weeks ago and I’ve not made a sale since. This was obviously luck, so yesterday I paused the campaigns now I’ve reach my test budget of £100 (I made $50 so I’m down approx £70). I’m now ready to create new adword campaigns, but this time pointing to my new web site.

Am I going in the right direction?

In the meantime I’m going to watch one of Mark’s videos every day and build a plan of my next steps to take.

I’d appreciate any comments, good or bad!

Thanks in advance.

Hi, nice start with your review site, I think it needs a bit of work though to look more credible and be more useful.

See http://pc-system-utilities-software-rev ... views.com/ and http://www.tripadvisor.com/ and http://reviews-zdnet.com.com/4566-6500_ ... l?ont=camc for examples of great review sites.

Is google accepting your ads? Or are you having to pay extremely high minimums eg $1/$5/$10 per click?

Also SaleHoo is a wholesale sources directory, yet the rich jerk is a business opportunity. Why are they reviewed next to each other in the same category?

You really need to pay close attention to what people are searching for and put up an appropriate landing page.

If people are searching for "Wholesale PSPs", then your review site should be on the various wholesale sources companies that have sources for psps.

If people are looking for "make money online", then the reviews should be about various websites, like the rich jerk and forex, and affilorama:) etc that show you how to make money online.

Get what I mean?

It is very important that you categorize your keywords in adwords and target your advertisement and landing pages accordingly.

All the best, hope this helps!

Hi Mark,

Thanks very much for the comments.

I do agree with your point about Salehoo being in the wrong category/site! I was actually thinking about writing my own web site from scratch (I’m currently using PHP-Nuke) and using sub domains for different review categories, e.g.

Wholesalers.clicksense.net
BusOps.clicksense.net
Etc.

Each sub domain could have its own unique landing page. However, I will try and get my Business Opportunity review site up and running and add much more content, while in the meantime watching and learning from your videos.

With Google adwords, I’m paying around $0.50 for keywords like “multiple income streamsâ€Â
