How do I set up my own affiliate network?

Hello everyone, my name is Domingo, and I would like to create an affiliate network, a bit like the existing ones, Traadedoubler, Xanox, MaxBounty etc etc. I know I need a tracking software to be installed on a server or host etc. My questions are, serves some license to do something? I do clauses in contracts with companies? What I say to the companies when you contact them? Every affiliate that registers on my site, you must necessarily have a website? Why? How can I put different links that are marked automatically to users through the countryside?
What are the costs to support a site like this? Could you give me more information? Thank you!

You would need an affiliate tracking program created. I suggest you discuss this with a developer who can help build the application according to your needs.

Most networks I know have a list of brands or products so you would need to gather these too.

I suggest you visit ClickBank. They have resources for merchants and a huge knowledgebase you can tap into to for information on setting up your own affiliate network.

All the best!

If you are planning to start an affiliate network, I strongly recommend that one of the first things you have in place is a solid approvals process for potential affiliates before you allow the first person to join your network.
There is, unfortunately, a huge amount of people out there who will attempt to sign up using fake details. They will also attempt to commit various fraudulent practices such as form filling, submitting bogus leads and a myriad of other tricks in order to try and make a fast buck out of you. This can cause you a huge amount of problems and can potentially cause advertisers to withdraw their offers from your network. Also make sure you have a good system to monitor your networks traffic, so that if any fakes do slip through your approvals process, you can keep a close eye on their traffic and shut down any one who misbehaves before they cause any real damage to your business. On the upside, there are groups/forums you can join which will assist you in spotting these people, so you're not on your own.

Hi Domy,

You may check out these sites that offer tools for creating your own affiliate network:

http://www.alstrasoft.com/affiliate.htm

It is quite expensive to start a website like this as the software alone is expensive to get. You may also need an affiliate manager to manage the website and handle the sign-ups, commissions, contact the merchants and sellers, etc.
