Heading designs to use when promoting affiliate sites?

When designing/developing a site to promote an affiliate product, what subtleties and differences should be observed when wording the heading and sub heading, compared with that of the site for the affiliate product? Can they say the same thing but in a different way, like say a minimum 60% difference - as in article rewriting?

I think the best thing is to not duplicate content at all. Reword everything as much as you can if you are getting your information from other articles. Have a look at Marks 20 Minute Challange at rewording an article in one of the recent Affiliorama Updates. Just don't copy something word for word or else you could get that site banned from being listed in Google etc

Content is content. The only thing you're really concerned about is that your content isn't seen as being duplicate content. To that extent, headers and subheaders are really not much different from the rest of the site.

Although this doesn't really address the main point... why are you wanting to reword the copy of an affiliate site? I'm assuming you're talking about the sales pitch. You're meant to send visitors to the affiliate site and have them do the selling. The only reason to provide your own sales pitch is if theirs is weak, and in that case you don't want to be rewording a weak sales pitch!

Just don't copy something word for word or else you could get that site banned from being listed in Google etc

Your site won't be "banned" from Google. It just won't rank well if its seen as being duplicate content.

All the best,
