1. If we have Adsense on our site, do we have to disclose the fact that we make money from it too?
(Moderator Troy)- No, because Google has the "ADS by Google" link above all adsense blocks.
Visitors know right away that it is an ad.
2. Does it matter what personal pronoun (i.e: "we", "I", "the owner of http://www.mysite.com") we use in the disclosure?
What I mean is, which one is the best option:
a. "I make a commission if a visitor purchases a product or service after clicking our links"
b. "***we*** make a commission if a visitor purchases a product or service after clicking our links"
c. "the owner(s) of http://www.mysite.commakes a commission if a visitor purchases a product or service after clicking our links"
(Moderator Troy)- No, it will not matter if you use we, I etc.. the point is you must be transparent telling people you are benefiting from the products you are promoting.
3. Is it acceptable to include a link to the disclosure at the footer of a website, or is the link supposed to be at the very top of every page, which the visitors see right away when they land at any page?
(Moderator Troy)- Apparently, the disclosure is not enough. You need to have the disclosure right next to every link or ad block. I am currently looking into this.
4. In addition to having the disclosure either at the footer or any other navigation menus, are we also required to make the disclosure wherever we put affiliate links within a specific section, such as a blog post?
(Moderator Troy)- Yes, you need the disclosure near all links and ad blocks etc..
