Ezine articles #HAHD

Ezine articles is hosting is last and final #HAHD (Hundred articles, hundred days)! Anyone interested in taking part in this? Maybe you could motivate each other.. 1 article per day isnt that hard

I know most of you hate Ezine and the prizes aren't really that attractive.. but still I think it is a good way to test your commitment and brush up on some article writing skills!

Plus if you have 100 unique articles by the end of the day.. imagine the things you would be able to do with it! And if you are not getting the results you want(in terms of traffic n sales) from the articles, I am sure someone here more experienced would be able to point out what you are doing wrong!!

Thanks for the heads up, Kakaboo :)

If you want to produce unique articles and find it easier to talk than write, you could talk about a topic then transcribe it. An hour of audio can turn into 20 articles :)

Thanks Michelle

Im not that good at talking lol..

But Ezine is really inconsistent! I am starting to dislike them too! A few days ago I submitted 2 articles and I sneaked in an affiliate link yoursite.com/go/afflink linking directly to the site and they accepted it. I did not know whether it was allowed at that time, so I just tried..

So those 2 articles got accepted and my affliate link is down there on the live articles, so I thought it was allowed.. so I wrote a few more doing the same thing and now they reject my articles saying that only top level domain redirects are allowed??! Now I have to change all the links in the articles being queued up in the editorial queue :(

so.. for those of you submitting to ezine, remember to redirect the links to your own website or a landing page instead of the aff links.. if not a lot of time will be wasted by them rejecting your articles.

Yeah watch the TOS and don't try to mess with them. One of the things that makes EZA so good is also the reason for the inconsistencies - someone does actually read and approve your stuff!

Also a quick heads up re the HAHD challenge for those with multiple author accounts, the 100 articles have to be under the same author.

It seems to be really popular - I wonder why it is the last one?

i dont know why its the last one.. maybe they ran out of coffe mugs? XD They just said it was the last and final one in their emails..

yup I know that they do really read your stuff of course, thats why some people hate it so much because they always get rejected.. but from this you can also tell that they dont really read through ALL of your stuff

Its sort of like an article writing marathon held by Ezine every few months.. this is the #6 time they are hosting it and they also claim that it will be the last one that they will be hosting... if you manage to write a minimum of 100 400-articles in 100days, you will receive a ezine coffee mug and some other stuff, if you manage to write 200 articles this time you will also receive a bonus deck of ezine play cards. HAHD stands for hundred articles, hundred days

Hey Kakboo - it probably took you less than 82 freakin' articles to do it! :o)

1st article submitted - 99 to go!

You mean they required 100 articles to become a platinum author in the past?

No, I just struck really sh***y timing when I was submitting articles - Nothing to do with article quality!

It was just over a year ago and they were changing their TOS weekly. If you didn't make platinum after your first ten articles you had to submit another 25 that were accepted first time. These would take up to a week to be approved, but in that week the TOS had changed without warning, (think anchor text keyword length and resource box length) so what was OK when you submitted the articles was suddenly not OK! Of course this meant that you had to submit another 25........

82 articles later finally getting Platinum was a bit of a hollow victory.

Stupid thing is that sometimes I still have to wait a week for approval!

The things we do :o)

2 submitted - 98 to go!

82 articles seem to be the magic number here... I had a lot of troubles submitting my articles after having 82 articles... I wrote some articles from scratch and it still was considered not unique by the system... probably due to common sentence structures I used.

As of today, I have submitted 89 articles to EzineArticles for the challenge.. can't believe I wrote 89 of them in 5 days... now I am sick and tired of writing articles!!!

I have 42 articles queued up for them for review over the weekends... sure as hell gave the 2 human reviewers something to do when they come back to work! XD

Article Stats
Article Views: 1,502
Profile Views: 28
EzinePublisher: 1
URL Clicks: 104
Click Rate: 6.9%.
opt-ins: 5

Looks like a failed campaign to me.. dont think I will be completing that 11 articles I need to finish the challenge.. don't need the mug anyway.. figured my efforts would be better spent somewhere else. or maybe i should take some time to reset and learn bum marketing all over again...

Hmm... Is platinum permanent? Or you have to regularly submit?

U get platinum status once you have submitted 10 articles and they all get accepted.. its practically useless and just for show.. you get unlimited submissions + your articles get reviewed in a shorter period of time as compared to a non-platinum account

Ah fair enough. Sounds alright, but yeah just for show it seems. So what's all this talk about getting a pen?

Also... Just got this message from Ezine:

You have run out of article submissions.

Your account will be reviewed for an upgrade when all currently submitted articles are reviewed by our editorial staff.

I have 27 articles pending at the moment so I understand that may take a while. I'm guessing this is for platinum. Problem is, I hope it doesn't take too long because of HAHD.

Actually I've found that when HAHD is on articles tend to get reviewed faster :o)

As of today, I have submitted 89 articles to EzineArticles for the challenge.. can't believe I wrote 89 of them in 5 days... now I am sick and tired of writing articles!!!

Oh that is just crazy! There is no such thing as a failed campaign, get someone to look at you articles and see how you can improve your click rate - 89 articles is a massive achievement, you have a bucket load of time to tweak them and you gotta do the last 11, even if it is just to say that you completed the challenge.

Actually, if you can write that many articles in the first 6 days, you maybe should go for the prize for the top number of articles submitted....imagine the backlinks :o)

4 down - 96 to go

Submitted articles are generally reviewed within 2-14 business days of submission. They said you could contact them if your article has not been reviewed within the time frame: http://ezinearticles.com/contact.html

I'll admit I don't have near as many artilces on EZA as I should, but the ones I do have there, the links get clicked on average at least one out of every 10 views. Instead of a resource box that says something like "Grady has been doing xxx for yyy years and really knows his stuff. Check out his website at 'http://www.somewebsite.com", I take what I talked about in the article and use it to draw people to the site. For example, if the article was about 10 things you could do to be more successful, and one of the key things I mention was using affirmations, then I might say something like "Would you like to learn more on how you can create your own affirmations? [with the last four words as a link to the site] Find out how you can at Grady's website at 'http://www.somewebsite.com/create-your-own-affirmations'". And then put my name and the copywrite date below that. This format has worked well for me when I use it.

That's because you only get 10 submissions if you are a new author, once you have gotten all that 10 accepted you will be able to submit as many articles as you want. Plus the reviewers do not work on weekends at all! Just write your articles in Word and save them so that you can submit them immediately once you get the green light.

Considering the uniqueness of my articles and the current results I am getting from Ezine, I figured it would better to post those articles on my website instead of helping ezine to build their business... I am still going to complete that 11 articles of course but I am probably going to post them on other places like ArticleDashboard instead or ArticlesBase. The prize for the top no of articles isn't that attractive either.. (premium membership? lol who cares for that)

I'll admit I don't have near as many artilces on EZA as I should, but the ones I do have there, the links get clicked on average at least one out of every 10 views. I usually just put TIP: blah blah in the resource box... like if my article is on dating, then I would put TIP: To learn how to attract women the right way , check out (link to my squeeze page).. I think resource boxes are something that you have to experiment with a lot... due to the fact that everybody's writing style is different.
