As Mary said you don't need a website to promote affiliate products.
However, we strongly recommend that you create your own due to a number of reasons:
1. Most forums and blogs don't allow affiliate links on posts or on signatures.
This is going to limit the places where you can promote your affiliate products. Whereas, if you have a site, you can refer to your site on your post or on your signature. Users are taken to your site where you are able to freely discuss and promote the product.
2. You can promote as many products as you want.
You can do this without a site, but it's bound to be more difficult to keep tabs and organize the products you're promoting and where.
3. Limited monetization.
You can't earn any other way if you're doing affiliate marketing without a site. You need to wait for someone to click on your link, and purchase. Whereas, if you have a site of your own, you have the option to add banners, or add AdSense ads to your site. That's additional income for your site.
Hope that helps. Have a good day!
