Clickbank v Plimus

I have several hubpages that link to my website which, in turn, links to Clickbank products. Recently, however, the hubpages management have told me to remove all these links because Clickbank is a no-no as far as they are concerned. This is a big problem for me because many of these links have produced good sales. But I have removed the links as instructed, which leaves all my hubpages lying idle from an income point of view, apart from the few pennies they make on Adsense.

Of course I am trying to find a way round this without upsetting my relationship with hubpages, and am wondering if I could replace Clickbank with Plimus. I would really appreciate any comments or words of experience from other affiliates about Plimus (or hubpages for that matter).

Many thanks.

Hi Kieran,

I haven't tried Plimus myself but Mark has looked into it as an alternative to Clickbank. Maybe instead of linking to Clickbank, you can link to related pages on you own site instead? And from there, direct the users/readers to product reviews that contain links to sales pages?

Hope that helps. Have a good day!

Hi Kieran,

These links provide good ideas (alternatives) to Hubpages:

You may also try this if you want: http://wpblackhat.com/wpblog/how-to-clo ... ger-blogs/

As for Hubpages, I suggest you just use the links as backlinks to your site. You may also just insert your YouTube videos there.

Thanks Cecille

I have opened a Plimus account (you have to do this to see what they have in their marketplace) but, on initial inspection at least, they seem to be geared heavily towards low value software, lots of games, etc. Not what I am promoting, but I will spend a little more time looking at Plimus (now called BlueSnap apparently) to really get familiar with it. So far, though, it seems to be Clickbank 1, Plimus 0!

Regarding links, Hubpages is ahead of you there! They specifically forbid links to pages that then link to other pages with links to CB products. That was the way I had all my links set up, and they found them all! Oh well...

Hi Kieran,

I'm sorry to hear Hubpages are tightening their reigns and won't allow you to link to product reviews and similar pages. Would Hubpages allow you to link to Amazon though? I visited a few Squidoo sites the other day and it appears they allow members to link directly to Amazon from their lenses.

Have a good day!

Hi Cecille

Yes, Hubpages do allow Amazon links but, of course, the income is nothing like what can be achieved through Clickbank - and I don't think Amazon has any digital products in the DIY niche which I am in.

Squidoo is still OK for links indirectly to Clickbank and also to Amazon (and ebay), although my cynical side says that it will be only a matter of time before they get slapped by Google and tell us all to remove any links that actually make real money!

Thanks for your help, once again.
