Check my website please and give comment!

Let me introduce myself,

I'm Edmond Haarman and my company name is Edmond-son.

I'm working as a ZZP'er ( working without workers) for about 5 years now.

My website: http://www.edmond-son.nl is built with Websitemaker from Mijn Domein.nl here in Holland.

I did it myself with a little bit of help of mijn domein and via Traffic Travis I got to now this great website with lessons and forums etc, etc.

So please give comment about my site or contact me about it.

I really want to know more about the people who look at it and what I can do to make the site better ranked.

Sincerely,

Edmond.

Hi Edmond,

Welcome to Affilorama! :)

I visited to your website and it looks good but it could certainly do with a couple more improvements. The fonts are a bit too big for me and most of your text is in bold. I suggest you decrease the font size. Scale them so that headers are a bit bigger than the normal text. Keep the bold text to a minimum, as much as possible, do just the headers. If you have a list, you can italicize the words in the list instead.

You might want to improve the color scheme of your site and base the colors on your logo. The sidebar is a bit too wide and I think that's because of the banner/logo you have, so you might want to decrease the size of the image and compress the text a bit. You have plenty of images down the page. I suggest you organize those (an image gallery maybe?) and post links to your articles and images there.

Hope that helps. Have a good day!

Hi Edmond,

Welcome to Affilorama!

I have reviewed your website and you have many items that I find very interesting.
The photos and contact details are very important in running a business therefore all possible contact details should be listed on your site, and please have them updated regularly, make sure all emails listed are active and all phone numbers are working.

The photos are very interesting and potential customers would look at these photos. I can suggest that you put brief descriptions on each photo posted on your gallery and you may also share success stories or post some testimonials about your services. With these photos you can highlight your great work outputs and share your customer's satisfaction. Customers will be delighted to read stories from other customers who have benefited from your professional and excellent services and this would lead to increase sales.

You may also want to try and add some plug ins on your site that would help you increase traffic and increase sales and profitability, you may check out this new plug in: WpSmartApps. They have two products: Readers From RSS 2 Blog and Immediate List Building Pro.

Hope this helps. :-) Have a great day!

Hi Edmond,

I suggest that you also try to widen the margin on both sides just to limit the space of text you have on the bottom. It would be good to read the content without browsing down the page further. Or perhaps you can cut and separate the content into multiple pages, whichever is easier for you.

In this page here- http://www.edmondson.nl/category, perhaps you can also display a "gist" of your content and a a click-able link that says "read more" (directing to the designated page).

http://www.edmondson.nl/form/view/1- the form here is not placed inside the box's margin. You may want to edit that a bit.

If you have not checked yet the free pointers about website building here, there are a lot of handy tips you can learn here and incorporate in your website. :)

Also, you may want to check out how to optimize your website here. Additionally, I suggest you list your website in Google Places and add a map of your place in the side bar, along with your contact information. Placing your business in Google Places/Map will help people in your area find you quick.

That's it! I hope I have contributed something which you can improve on.

All the best! :)

I agree with Cecille, you want to make sure you're using headers (h1, h2, h3... etc) instead of bold text for the different areas of the page. Bold is one of those things that looses effectiveness when overused. It becomes "expected", so it will "blend in" if overused.

As far as the color scheme, I like the blue background, but I think if you do as Cecille suggested and use some of the colors from your logo, you'll add some "connectivity" to the feel. The yellow and the red won't make good background colors (yellow would be too bright and red, used too much, might actually scare away visitors), but if you were to use the exact shade (get a 3x3 pixel or larger using the color selection tool available in most image editing programs like Photoshop or GIMP) of the Red or Yellow as the colors for your headers, and you'll accomplish what she's suggesting.

I'd also suggest breaking the pages up a bit. The more focused each page of the site is on a narrow topic, the more effective it will be. In other words, one page for garage doors, one page for gates and fences, etc. (Which, as I explored the site, I see you have up. But for some reason they all show up on this page you linked to.)

Also, something i noticed is that the "home" page should go to the root page. This should be where you have the details about who the company is and where to find you.

I think you have a great start. Just a few tweaks can make it a more manageable read!

(I used Chrome's translation to figure out everything, so it may not be perfect, but I hope it's close enough you understand.)
