Review websites still work but you would have to build it around a niche as Mary said in her response. Pick a niche, select products within the niche, and then write a review for each of them. You would need one domain name to create one website for this one niche that you choose.
You don't need to promote only one product. You can promote several within your one website to maximize its use. You can add one opt-in page for the entire site, or several different ones although we don't recommend that as it can be difficult to keep track of.
Once you build your list, you will be able to reach more people who to promote products to.
