BestJobs.ph Disappointment...

Hi all,
I made an account on BestJobs and went through about 40 resumes and emailed them all (looking for a writer). Anyways, I have only heard back from 4 and it's been a good 10 days. Of these 4, none are at the proper standard of writing proper english articles.
I heard so much about BestJobs and so paid $113USD to get a 3 month membership to see resumes, and now nothing is coming from it. I am really just disappointed, unless I am doing something wrong? Or not looking in the right spot? Any help or any insight from someone who hired on BJ?
Thanks

I haven't tried bestjobs.ph, but I have tried onlinejobs.ph, which I believe is owned by the same company.

Make sure the people you contact have posted their resumes recently. If the resumes are a bit stale (more than a few days or a week old) then the people may have already found work somewhere else.

Hey Clayton,
Yeah I looked into it, John Jonas owns OnlineJobs, but I think Best Jobs is owned by someone else. They had the idea up first then he did it end of 2009.
I been searching in only last week's resumes. Anyways, going to keep looking and emailing more recent ones and see what happens.
Thanks Clayton :)

One thing about searching resumes on bestjobs is that not all jobseekers who go there post their resumes. In my pre-Affilorama days, I would do a job search there and I never posted my resume; I simply sent my resume to employers whose job postings I was interested in.

Has bestjobs not given you the option to post your job? I went there recently and I saw many jobs posted by foreign entities.

I think I found my way to Affilorama through BestJobs.ph. :) So that only shows that it's still one of the best sites to post a job if you are a foreign employer/company. However, I can say that most of the Filipino job seekers still prefer either JobsDB.com and Jobstreet when applying for jobs since these sites have 'quick apply' options where they no longer have to send their resumes manually.

So did I. I mean I saw the job ad of Affilorama on bestjobs.ph and I applied and so here I am.:)

Ashton, you really should talk to bestjobs about being able to post your job ads instead of just going through the resumes in their database.

Yeah I think I'm going to email them or something. Problem was when I tried posting 2 jobs, they take them down because they have a new rule where you can't post "work online or work from home" jobs.

Maybe you should look into oDesk as well. There are many Filipino writers available there, and at very affordable rates, too. I hire people there, though not for writing jobs at this time.

You do not have to pay anything to post jobs on oDesk but you do need to have an oDesk account and a verified payment method.

hi N0thsa,
I don't know about bestjobs.ph, but I actually work in Odesk and I can say there are a lot of Filipinos out there ready to write articles for you. You can track their work hours with an auto-screenshot software (if you choose to pay hourly) or you can set a fixed-price job if that is what you prefer.
Hope that helps.

I've tried oDesk too and their system works for me. But I'm more happy working for Affilorama now. :)
Bestjobs.ph has free job advertising so you would only need an employer account to advertise job posts.

Hope that helps. Have a good day!
