Assistance with "make-money-online" topic please

I too am having a bit of a struggle. I've got a domain name, unitedforprofit.com and the idea I have behind it is to provide a interactive community for internet entrepreneurs to share idea's and to discuss what's working and what's not. Share opinions on these so-called guru's that have been robbing us newcomers to the net for personal gain.

My struggle is that I have not made a lot of money online and this niche seems to be, to say the least saturated. But my passion is trying to make money online and help others to do the same. I would love to know how to setup a site like the wat this forum is setup and then of course appearance wise be totally different.

Any suggestions would be appreciated as well.

Hi Papabear,

I've been making a full time living and more online for 7 years and I have only recently entered this teach-people-how-to-make-money-online market.

While you 'could' enter this market, I don't believe you would do the best job of it until you are actually doing the business and making a full time living online.

I feel too many people enter this market without knowing what they are doing, you are right, it is oversaturated, and there are so many niche markets out there.

If you want to create a website about how to make money online, I am here to help you in every way that I can. I just don't feel confident that you would be able to be a leading player in that market, which is what you should be aiming to do.

If you have the money to purchase and review top internet marketers products, then perhaps you could make a big review of the gurus type site and this would do well. But this is expensive as a lot of their products cost a lot of money.

What other interests do you have? Other skills?

Think deep and list everything you can, tell me more about yourself so I can get a picture of you and your character so I can help suggest some great ideas.

Best regards,
Mark

Mark,

Thank you SO MUCH for your reply! I thought your answer would be similar to what you posted. I do however have a backup plan but I have brain freeze. I love to camp and was thinking of a camping theme OR I am a father of 4 boys ages 6, 7, 10 and 18 and was thinking along the line of parenting. Would you be able to assist me in which direction would be best in your opinion. I want to strictly go affiliate marketing on whichever site I choose. So I am trying to keep that in mind so I have great options in selecting good affiliates.

Parenting problems would make a fantastic website.

There are a lot of problems parents face that will lead them to wanting to buy a product (or click on adsense ads which in some instances are more profitable).

for example (these aren't exact keywords):

getting children to sleep
baby gifts
personalised baby gifts
baby sleep secrets
baby sign language
baby shower secrets
baby shower ideas
stopping child aggression/tantrums, etc
child weight issues
baby

etc

This could form an awesome web site.

What do you think?

regards,
Mark

Mark,

I have to agree with you 100%! Let me ask you this, would I base my site around keyword parenting and then break it down into categories like the examples you mentioned below. I guess what I'm getting as is so I know what domain and keyword I want to target. Being a parent I guess I would be an expert  on a site such as this. Now I'm fired up

yes, that sounds good.

Also, something new that I haven't put into my lessons that I'm starting to do more of. If you can purchase an existing domain name, say a pr 3 or 4 domain name that is kind of generic in name, from ebay or something, for $200 then it is a good idea. That way you won't be troubled by google's sandbox anywhere near as much.

Even if the domain has nothing to do with parenting, doesn't matter if you can make it work for you.

I suggest that you start with one website for your first month, then start creating another site on something completely different, just to spread your eggs into 2 baskets. That should be enough for a few months.

For that 2nd site, I suggest something that pays well in google adsense for example, a credit repair website, or a website around floor mats, rubber mats, etc, or perhaps chemical manufacturing. Don't worry about this for now, we'll get into that one later.

You need to make a very good start on this parenting site first.

Best regards,
Mark

THANK YOU SO MUCH MARK! Although you stumped me a bit regarding the comment, "Even if the domain has nothing to do with parenting, doesn't matter if you can make it work for you. "

I will follow your suggestions and hang on for the ride.

OH, one last question Mark, what about expired domains, would that be another option?

expired domains could be an option, not sure if that is as effective as a site that already has backlinks and pr.

but worth doing if you are on a budget.

I must have been searching under the wrong term in ebay, I was all over looking. Thank you Mark! I'll see if I can grab it.

I ran with what you gave me and continued my research on ebay. I just purchased a PR4, www.makeyourmomcry.com

I never realized you could buy a domain name like this.
What if the website is down,do the links still exist?
You just start back up again under the same name and a new site a/la xsite pro ? Fascinating! I looked for a long time, but found nothing I really wanted.

How do you verify( other than checking page rank) that these are legit?

revimp,

I didn't either until Mark made the suggestion. I'm following the instructions of Mark, that's all I know for sure :D

I switched the dns over tongiht so it'll take 24-48 hours to propagate. I've already got a page up as instructed in the lesson notes of week one of the 90 day roadmap. Hope it's up and running tomorrow.

I'm going to map out my site tomorrow to define my categories and sub categories. I'll then work on my keyword research tomorrow, BUT UGHHH that part I NEVER seem to get right.

I don't have the answer to any of your questions all I know is until the next google update, I have a PR4 site and didn't have to do any work to get it :o

After going to the link Mark provided i did a search on ebay for "pagerank" and just researched the heck out of it. I can give you the name of the guy I used. I actually emailed him and made arrangements so I could get the domain without waiting for the auction to end.

Mark,

You can erase this post if it inappropriate. I just got off the phone with the individual I bought the PR4 domain from. I told him I might have some others interested in purchasing some PR4 and PR5 sites and he made me a deal that I would like to pass along. I can get PR4 domains for $45 each and PR5's for $65. I don't make anything off of this ONLY the satisfaction of helping others and giving back.

you can have a blog, but I don't suggest that you make your entire website in blog format. Include articles and all the rest. Have your blog be one section of your site.

I still don't get how if the website is no longer active,if the links are still intact and how do you know they will be etc? I am a little confused as to how you know if you are going to get the benefit or not without checking on all of the links and how the whole thing works, thanks

Mark,

I'm on overload right now :D Before I move on any further (whew I've busted my tail to this point) can you have a look at http://www.makeyourmomcry.com/sample.html which will be my main page when all the kinks have been worked out.

Am I going in the right direction? Is the simple html design accpetable?

I suck at keywrod research, how are my categories in your opinion?

Your design looks great so far. Your categories are good too. Please add one on child aggression and another one on baby gifts.

use http://www.inventory.overture.com to test out other keyword ideas you may have.

Mark,

I just have the one page site at http://www.makeyourmomcry.com
the sample.html page I haven't made into my index.html yet as I wanted you to review it.

If I remove the one page that's already up (no links etc,) and replace it with sample.html page, isn't that bad if my links don't go anywhere since I'm still working on it?
