Any suggestions to help improve my Affiliate Campaign?

Hi Mark,

I have been reading and listening to your video's and I'm still not getting anywhere. I seem to be spending money and not making much. Maybe one sale a week that is far outweighing what i have to pay for them

I must admit though that i am only doing direct linking but i have been told that this can be just as good as doing all the landing and things.

I know that the affiliate thing doesn't happen over night but i have been doing this a few months now and am starting to get frustrated as i feel like i am not getting anywhere.

Could you please give me some suggestions as to what i can do to improve my thought as i am a very dedicated person who is willing to work hard and give it all i go as i really really want to learn this.

Thanks in advance :D

Hi Wealthy!

The biggest problem with direct linking is that you are simply a middle man. You don't actually own any assets apart from your list of profitable keywords. (yes you can make money this way, I just feel it is a risky long term plan).

If you follow the 90 day plan and actually build a website that is of value in itself (ie build an asset that will always hold some value, kinda like building a commercial property), it will serve you so much better in the long run. You can even sell your site if it doesn't work out the way you want and at least get paid for the time you put in, whereas you can't get paid for your time simply setting up google adwords links direct to affiliate sites.

Not to mention that free traffic is a lot easier to monetize than paid traffic because you don't get hit so hard if the traffic doesn't convert well for you.

These kinds of sites will also lend themselves to being picked up by adwords more easily because of the new quality requirements by google adwords. (of course you'd need to tailor pages on your site to convert better with adwords).

regards,
Mark

Well, I'm here to help. Others here on the forum are here to help too and offer moral support:)

Have no fear, just take action and enjoy the ride!

Watch the 90 day roadmap. Also I'm uploading new XSitePro videos tomorrow.

Watch them and the dreamweaver lessons and see which webdesign software is right for you, then we'll go from there.

Anything you don't understand that is not currently in a video lesson, I'm here to help and quite often will record new video lessons based on your requests. I am constantly working on creating more lessons.

Anyway, watch the 90 day roadmap, come up with a plan of attack and get back to me.

best regards,
Mark

sorry mark can u also tell me, is google approving all ads before they are shown? i have created 2 campains in the last 2 days and they have both said

Your campaign has been saved.
This ad won't appear to users until an AdWords specialist has reviewed your exception request. If you like, you can create alternate Ad Groups now with different ad content and keywords.

i have never had this before. Is this part of new thing that they have brought in?

What other PPC would you advise?

Thanks again sorry for all the questions

If they are asking to approve an exception for you, it probably means that you have got some text in your ad that they normally don't allow, except when there are exceptions:)

for example,

If you were to say in your adwords ad:

Simply the best dog training
information on the web.

Then that would be dissallowed because you can't say that your site is "the best" (a superlative).

But if you were to have a site about best man wedding speeches, then you could say:

Great information about how to
write a best man wedding speech.

Because your usage of the word "best" is not as a superlative.

What I am saying is that it appears that you probably have some sort of wording that google is going to be human reviewing to make sure that it fits within their guidelines.

With regards to other ppc's, overture usa, overture uk and msn are great!

Also, often google content match is great too (but not on all search terms, so be careful!)

Best regards,
Mark

hey Wealthy, don't be afraid of stuffing up at one stage or another. It's gonna happen. But as long as you learn from mistakes (And you will if you're here), you'll be right.

Don't be afraid to ask any "dumb" questions either. We've all asked them before.

Have fun and goodluck.

Thanks for all your help.

I was looking around the different sites avaliable and came across this one

http://www.elpassobooks.co.uk/website/e ... /index.php

Not a very good example as he contradicts himself but the idea of the page is what i was wondering about

Is it ok to make an affilate site like this one where you have all your affilate products under subtitles?? This guy is trying to sell his web page with all these affiliates on it to other people. Is this a good way to do it with all your affliates on one site or should you have differnt site/domain names for each affilate that you have, now that google is playing around with them.

Would you promote it all as one page or would you do sub ads and different keywords for each one and direct them to a certain page?

To Date i have spent $550 on google adwords and have made back just under $200 in the few months ive been doing it. I feel like i am stuck in the mud and cant get out i have tried and tried to get out but cant, this is so frustrating.

Thanks

Regards
Kelly

I think it's time you forgot about google adwords and started following the 90 day roadmap.

Get back into google adwords later when you are making more money.

That $550 you spent could have been spent on getting 50 articles written for you for an article website and then you'd still have something (an asset - a website with unique content), rather than nothing to show for your efforts.

I strongly recommend that you stop looking for the "quick fix" and start building a solid affiliate business - ie and article website, with a blog, perhaps even a forum, a newsletter, trade links with other websites, search engine optimize your site, then keep adding more and more articles each week. This will be a fantasic asset in the long run and you won't have to worry about paying for google adwords clicks. If you do want to get into google adwords later, you can. At least you'll be more ready.

Google adwords really requires that you have some capital because often you need to lose money first. Often I'll spend $2000 on a bunch of keywords to promote a particular website, I might only make about $1200 back, but that'll let me know which search terms are selling and which aren't converting. I simply delete the keywords that don't sell and increase my bids on the ones that do sell.

I also keep refining and split testing of course. And don't forget Overture UK, Overture USA and MSN, they are also great (Google Adwords isn't everything in Pay Per Click!)

All the best,

Mark

ps Do the 90 day plan! Let me know if you've got an idea and what your plan is and I'll check you are on the right track!
