About some .EDU backlinks

Hello
In first, sorry for my bad english

Now...
I'm running a campaign for my own site and I have some .EDU sites in my tool box where I can post some backlinks (in profile and blog post).
When posted, I have my post permalink but if I search in Google for that post, I have to login in the site for view it... pratically, that post is like a "private" post where only a logged user can view it.

So my question is:
Can Google spiders "see" that post (and the backlink inside it ) ?


I'm little bit confused

 Thanks esolution, but unfortunately I don't own these .edu blogs... Im only able to register an account and post some articles.
So all these backlinks are useless, right?

 Sites usually have settings that allow it to treat webcrawlers as registered users so that they could index the links and pages.

However, we cannot be sure what sites are really private and not allowing googlebot to crawl. You cannot be certain that you actually get credit for the link in the same way that you would if the page was publicly viewable. So, it would be safe not count the links on the private pages as good links.

 I don't think you can :(

You need to be logged into the site's Webmaster Tools (Blocked URLs page of the Health section) to see which URLs Google has been blocked from crawling.

I've done a little search in Google about these .edu sites (they use all the Moodle script) and I found this:

"Another way of building edu backlinks is through Moodle. This is a content management system which is mostly used by educational websites. There are a number of universities and colleges in the world that are using Moodle system. You just have to join these moodle websites."

I'll try to post some links and I'll see...

 Yes, you could :) Moodle has good traffic and high page rank (PR 9).

Just make sure you are linking to relevant pages. :)

 Hi Roby,

I suggest you skip the sites that won't allow you to show your content to non-members. Most likely these pages (which follows certain privacy settings) can't be indexed. The list you have may not been updated and most of the sites there already updated their privacy settings so IMs won't flood their pages.

You may also want to search for the custom footprints to search for .gov and .edu blogs/sites rather than depending on a list that is not updated. This way, you can also make sure that you are targeting .edu and .gov sites that are related to your niche.

I dont use a list, I use this search string:

site:.edu inurl:login "Login here using your username" "For full access to courses you'll need to take a minute to create a new account for"

Too sad that the backlinks on these sites are not indexed, becouse you are able to post a whole article with anchor text.

 Hi Roby,

You could try searching for the specific pages in question and see what Google shows on them (this would tell you if they are indexed or not).

 Hi Roby,

So you are using a footprint :) Try to search for other footprint versions perhaps this can help you find good sites to build backlinks on.

 .EDU back links related to educational department or institute. These types back links are very strong and Google give priority.

 .EDU links are always helpful to increase the PR of any webpage .So, for that it should be very necessary to create more and more backlinks from education websites. To get these links you can easily check google queries.
