What are the dangers of using the web?
It is important to be aware of both your privacy and security when surfing the web. People use the web to communicate personal information as well as pay for goods and services. While most of these transactions are very secure, there are some situations where your personal and financial information can fall in to the wrong hands if you're not careful. For more information on avoiding this, read the How do I avoid scams section.
When you surf the web, your computer is constantly downloading files and in some cases other software so you can use the web to its full capacity. However, sometimes these files or programs are written by people who want to steal your information or harm your computer. This is called Malware or Malicious Software.
