Hi everyone,

Sorry if this topic is not where it should be, I just didn't know were else to put it.

I worked my a$# off making a new blog for my niche and patiently waited a few days to see what I ranked in Google only to go online today and find out that Google BANNED MY SITE! - ...sorry, I’m just super pissed right now.

I got a little message saying," this site banned b/c porn, warez, or topsite... and then says to contact ImageShack.us if I believed this site was banned in mistake.

I have NO PORN in my site, and what the heck is "warez" or "topsite"? Has anyone ever had this stupid problem?
Man, all of my work gone down the toilet, this super sucks!

Just google "warez" and "Topsite"

Thanks Mark, you are right!

I'll look it up and hopefully see if I can save my work. I've bee suffering a little from information overload, so I'll check on it in a little wile as soon as I get my head cleared and fresh again.

Check out http://www.pandia.com/features/banned.html on some reasons why a site can get banned by the big G - its possible it has suffered from identity theft, a similar site that is dark side...

I didn't even know Identity theft could happen to a web site. Since its actually a blog made with blogger, do you think someone might have also hacked to my Google email account since they both use the same password? I'll check on that url ASAP!

Warez definition can be found here

However, I have a funny feeling that you may have used an Image shack photo on your site without paying for it or using it without permission? I could be wrong.

Just for all you guys here who don't know this, but image places that you buy photo's from have tracking codes in thier JPG's.. yep you heard it right...lol.
So if you use one without paying for it or without permission, they get a report about it.
The code gets removed when you buy it though.

Now "Topsites"

"topsites" are sites that list say, the top 100 websites of a certain genre. you'll see the sites listed from #1 down, usually rated on hits or votes.

"topsites" can also refer to websites in the top level of the illegal "warez" distribution, including movies, photo's, music, games and software.

Hi wollowra, I appreciate your help.

When I first saw the small printing telling me my site had been banned, I noticed it was placed on a photo I had placed in my blog through ImageShack.us. This is a photo I have used before in another article and have never had this problem.

Do you know how I can tell if an image needs to be bought before pasting onto any other site? Again, thank you wollowra!

Hmmm,
Had a look at imageshack and they may have some things that google does not favour.
Anime( slash cartoon porn or similar )
Also, it seems anyone can upload a photo ( even if its copyrighted ) and
then others can download it or use it.
Well this is file sharing or what is classed as Warez.

I would remove the photo you used and get another from a reputable company etc.
Then email google and say sorry you did not know abut the photo on imageshack not being allowed and to reinstate your site in it's index.

Thanks Troy, I will do that ASAP. I'm also now using photobucket.com to upload my images. It looks like theire a more reputable company.

Why are you not uploading images to the site you are using them on? Bandwidth issues? Your IP charges you for bandwidth? Hosting company charges by bandwidth? If not, then upload the images to your own site.

I use istock.com to buy images for as low as $2 USD. It's worth it.
