Your website files from Xsitepro

Is there a way to get access to the files that make up your website in Xsitepro? I want to upload it manually (without doing it through the publisher button) because everytime I do it through XsitePro, it uploads them in the wrong folder and it gets all cluttered. I was wondering if I could some how download my website files and then just upload them myself through FileZilla.

If anyone knows of a way to do this then please let me know

Thanks,

-Leo

You might want to post this question on the XSP Forum as well. There are a bunch of experienced web dev guys there who could give you an answer on this, since XSP is their main tool.

It is possible to upload data directly using FileZila however I believe you will lose the total functionality of the X-Site program. This type of action would make using the X-Site program senseless as all future updates would have to be done through FileZila.

Using the X-Site Pro program when updating would revert everything to the X-Site Pro general folder scheme. If you do not like the c/panel arrangement the program is designed to produce I would suggest using another creation software entirely.

If your purpose is just to create harder breaks or add other benefits the basic program does not perform you can program your site through the "source code" section of X-Site Pro. But to change the general folder organization program does not seem beneficial in the long-term. The main advantage of X-Site Pro is the simplicity of the website creation process.

if it is going into the wrong folder, it is probably because you have the FTP settings wrong in the Xsite pro publishing tab.

there is a line there where you specify what folder you want your site to upload in. if you just set it to public_html, it will automatically upload your site to the main folder. instead, you should set it to

public_html/yoursitefolder/

to ensure it goes where you want it.
