Website hosting and domain registration

Hey All

I am new to world of affiliate marketing so I am learning a lot from this site and its contributors. The problem is that there is so much information that its easy to loose a few hours scanning and researching and at the end being more confused than I began. I just wanted to canvas opinion/ help about hosting and domain names.

I have been looking at this for a few days now and for every good comment there seems to be an equal bad comment. I see godaddy, hostgator, blue host, green geeks, ipage, etc. how do you choose? there doesn't seem to be much between them (even price). What should I be looking for?

I am considering the premium services/ affiloblueprint too, how does the web hosting there differ/ stack up compared to these other services.

Please help a confused newbie.

cheers

Jon

There are positives and negatives with any choice you will make. There are things good and bad about every company that registers domains and well as those that provide website hosting.

Saying that, your choice is to just pick one. Later, if you decide you do not like that company you can change to another hosting company. It may take a little effort to change but it can easily be done.

There is an old adage "It is easier to correct the boat that is moving off course than the boat that is still tied at the dock". What I am trying to say is "DO SOMETHING. MAKE A MISTAKE. THEN WE CAN CORRECT IT IF NEEDED."

I personally use GoDaddy as a domain registrar. I have 15 websites with AffiloHost. I have another 15 with HostGator.

If it is a major company you can't go too far wrong.

Thanks Margene

iPage is looking good at the moment so I might give them a try!

Hey there Jon,

I understand that you might get confused when you get to scan or research about materials to help you regarding web hosting and domain registration. Fortunately, AffiloBlueprint offers you an easy step-by-step lesson regarding Web Hosting and Domain Registration.. The lesson notes are very easy to understand, and there are also video demonstrations you can watch to help you understand much better. I'm sure that would be of great help to you.

Cheers!

We recommend Affilorama premium hosting and hostgator. :)

These have hosting packages that are reasonably priced. They are pretty inexpensive and offer really good customer support. These also have very good “uptime” which means your sites are always accessible since the servers rarely have problems.

Here's a hosting package that includes an autoresponder emailing service and a webinar service (these would cost a LOT more in addition to regular hosting) and it's less than $10 a month.

I can personally vouch for this service.

Hi,

You can try nameboy.com where you can enter a couple of words related to your topic and it will suggest domain names based on those words, and you can also try to purchase your domain name through namecheap.com.They have a pretty straightforward purchasing process, and the prices are about as cheap as you're going to find anywhere else.
You can choose Hostgator.com for your hosting.Hostgator have a hosting package for a reasonable price. It is pretty expensive but they offer really good customer support via live chat that you can go if there is anything wrong with your site.
