Using Scripts to stop spammers and bogus users on forums

Hey,

Does anyone know how to stop these guys from coming on your forum and posting c**p, I have to go back and continually delete users and posts because of spam.

I don't really know, but I'm sure someone out there would. Do a google search for phpbb and anti spam, theres bound to be plenty of others in the same position.

Hi Wes,

We use a combination of plugins and custom scripts to keep spammers out of our sites. Like Sean said, probably best to Google it. Just be careful though, because frequently installing plugins can break things, and if you don't have a php guru on hand you might find yourself in even deeper water.

Cheers lads, I have installed a script and bits of code that improve the SER of the forum, will this effect installing any other scripts or codes do you think. I will google it anyways and see what there is. :)
