Hi everyone, I'm looking for either a really good WP theme, or a designer who can help me modify one.....

Here is the story...

Right now I am using the Affilotheme. It's just not working for me. For example, I like this site design http://www.bbc.co.uk/languages/spanish/ so I tried to make something similar.

After a whole day, I finished! My design was pretty crap, comparatively. Check it out....http://www.best-way-to-learn-spanish-online.com/home/

Also, I really like this site http://learnspanishprograms.org/

I'd like to have something like the site above. The only real set-in-stone rule is that my site has to be Word Press--can't live without those plugins!

So, a premium WP theme that is more like a traditional website than a blog is what I'm after. Or, if someone can use a nice WP theme and then design me a nice static home page, I'd be willing to pay. Anybody have any suggestions?

However, I would like to know in what means does the AffiloTheme not working for you?

It is your choice as to whether you choose to create your web design yourself, hire a web designer, or look for themes through the internet, as you've said you prefer to have a WordPress theme. Each of those have advantages and disadvantages.

One really good place to get high quality Wordpress themes (but that you also pay the price for) is ThemeForest (http://themeforest.com), which is owned by the Envato network, which also run some really cool sites such as http://psdtuts.com and http://nettuts.com

I suggest you take a look and see if there's anything there that takes your fancy; many of them *are* aimed at the more traditional style, rather than blog format. The site also shows how many people have bought each theme, so you can figure out the chances that someone else will be using the same theme as you elsewhere on the Internet.

...but I've already finished my WP theme shopping. I purchased the "Catalyst" theme this morning. It seems to be just what I'm looking for. It's a totally customizable website theme that, of course, has a blog as well.

If you're promoting WP Themes, they do have an affiliate program! I used this guy's affiliate link because it has a 25% off coupon code. http://bestpremiumwp.com/coupon-codes/c ... -discount/ Maybe you can do something similar.

Good choice. Those who have used "Catalyst" said it's a good theme and has many custom options :)

Try templatemonster.com and themeforest.net. For both coupons are available ( so you won't spend to much on the template )
