InstaPop: working correctly w/ Firefox but not w/ IE
Hi everyone,
Installed InstaPop on my website - working correctly with Firefox. Using Internet Explorer - well some weird things are occurring. With IE it has lengthened the page. The lengthened page below the correct page is dark gray. The INSTAPOP sign-up box appears below the page in the dark gray area. Any ideas on how to correct this problem.
Thank you

What version of IE are you running?
If it's IE6 we take no responsibility! Even YouTube aren't supporting IE6 anymore!
If it's a later version, we'll take a look :)

Thanks for the reply.
I have IE8 installed.
I have removed the popup from the site. Replacing it with one created by XsitePro 1.6. It does not look as nice as the other, but appears to function on Firefox and IE.

Ok, we'll take a look.
If we can't replicate the problem (ie, make it happen ourselves) I might get you to shove that popover up on one page just for us to have a look at, if that's ok. Not just yet though :)

Hi Aletta,
Derek Little here.
I am having an IE8 Instapop problem too.
Here is my site:
http://musicproductionbeats.com/
Here is the error message I am getting from WC3
----------
Line 115, Column 47: there is no attribute "name"
<div class="PopOverBox" id="PopOverBox" name="PopOverBox">
✉
You have used the attribute named above in your document, but the document type you are using does not support that attribute for this element. This error is often caused by incorrect use of the "Strict" document type with a document that uses frames (e.g. you must use the "Transitional" document type to get the "target" attribute), or by using vendor proprietary extensions such as "marginheight" (this is usually fixed by using CSS to achieve the desired effect instead).
This error may also result if the element itself is not supported in the document type you are using, as an undefined element will have no supported attributes; in this case, see the element-undefined error message for further information.
How to fix: check the spelling and case of the element and attribute, (Remember XHTML is all lower-case) and/or check that they are both allowed in the chosen document type, and/or use CSS instead of this attribute. If you received this error when using the <embed> element to incorporate flash media in a Web page, see the FAQ item on valid flash.
----------
P.S.
I was pleased to see that your image is as charming as your voice.

Hi Derek Little!
Is your popover actually functioning right though? The W3C are interested in good practice, and the "principle of the matter", but often their suggestions aren't mission critical and your site will still work just fine.
So if your popover box is working in IE and FF then I wouldn't be worried about that one :)
PS: Flattery will get you everywhere!

Hi Aletta,
Nu site works great in FF and Chrome, but does not work right in IE
The site gets pushed down (I guess to make room for the popover?)
I tried digging through the code, but without luck. I gues it's just another IE glitch.
If you view my site with IE you can see what I mean.

P.S. Cool hat.
