Same article on my site and submitted: Duplicate penalty?
Article marketing is a key to back linking so I use it heavily. To avoid a "duplicate penalty" should I spin a post from my blog before submitting it to an article directory? Comments?

I know from a previous I.M course that you can use free Content spinner sites like JetSpinner (I think). Problem is I never got round to doing it. IN brief, do you paste your article in to the site's HTML editor and hit a button -or is it not so simple??

Yes you absolutely want to spin all of your articles, it takes some time to prepare them for spinning but believe me once you have spun your first article well, you will be thrilled with the results. I use jetspinner.com , they have video training and everything. Write a short paragraph to spin first to get the hang of it.

Thanks.
I just tried it and I notice that many of the spun versions of the one I put in have the same sentences appearing, they just appear on different lines sometimes. For example sentence 1 and 2 will reappear exactly the same position in articles 2 and 3 a,but they just change sentence 3 to an alternative sentence. Would that not be duplicate content then?

Be sure to rewrite at least 3 versions of each sentence, the more the better. I try to rewrite each sentence 4-5 times and then rewrite a few words inside each sentence. Then proof read each article before using them. It can take some time and I sometimes get writers block which makes it take even more time, but it works great.

I have used another spinning tool called Magic Article Rewriter that allows you to spin words and phrases, which leads to much more distinct spun and many, many more article possibilities.
It does take more work up front for you to set it up to spin, b/c you have to write the alternative phrases yourself, but the end result will probably be much better.
HTH!

From my understanding there is know duplicate penalty, but you don't get PR or back-link rewards, so it's probably pointless submitting a duplicate article.

the entirity of Duplicate content is a total myth..
what is a waste is using the same article for the same keyword
I will have to do this on a site that I don't mind giving away so i can prove all the fake experts wrong.
i do have one article on multiples sites only change is the keywords i targeted, less than 10% unique. ranking #1 with pr1-pr4 on 10 different keywords. but, It is not in a niche that i am willing to give away yet..
the thing is you cannot use duplicate content on your own site. duplicate content is what syndication is all about.
