 Try social platforms like LinkedIn and Reddit for good and meaningful traffic. Remember this is free traffic. PPC is unmatched when it comes to paid traffic.

But, what if you are in a very competitive niche such as fashion or jewelry? You will have very little chance of ranking well for keywords in an overly saturated niche. For those type of sites, you will need to employ alternate traffic generation sources, including social networking: Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter and Google +.

Although you can get backlinks from various random article directories, these are not really the best type of backlinks. Most of the article directories are no follow or considered too spammy and often sites linking from the directories will get penalties. I have read online where others who were linking from ezinearticles got a penalty for doing so.

 Firstly.. What is your niche? and where do you think your target market hang out? There are many places to get good traffic from, but it will depend on what your website is about! Please tell us a little more..

 If you are looking for free traffic then there is SEO. The downside of SEO is it takes time to rank on SERPs.

But if you have the budget for paid traffic, PPC is the best option. Paid traffic can get you on SERPs faster.
