Are there any effective strategies that I could adopt to increase traffic for my website via blog? I welcome any and all suggestions. Please share your opinions on this post.

Hi,

What I do is increase traffic to my blog and funnel those into my affiliate site. I make sure that the blog I set up is in the same niche or is related to my affiliate site. I publish blogposts that are related to an article in my affiliate site and link back to that article. That's one way I get traffic from my blog to my affiliate site.

Hi there,

I have my personal blog and what I do to get more traffic is to do blog commenting as well as forum posting. You can also do some on-page SEO by optimizing your meta tags/meta descriptions. Aside from that, you can create twitter integration to your blog so that people will be able to follow you, or create a Facebook page and link it to your blog. Moreover, you can exchange links from other blogs, or encourage your readers to subscribe by RSS.

You could increase traffic in your site by building backlinks like Squidoo, Hubpages, tumblr, blogger, xanga, yahoo360, zimbio, feedbite, bumpzee and ezinearticles. You can link more than one page in these sites AS LONG AS it doesn’t look spammy.
You could also use Web 2.0 technologies to create backlinks for your website by writing blogs like facebook and twiiter. I also suggest submitting articles on articles directories because you could also get backlinks there and traffic to your site as well.

Target some less competitive and search for good keywords to rank on that. For more traffic, you can use guest blogging. Another way to get traffic from your blog to your affiliate site is to have them in the same domain. You can either have the affiliate site or the blog as sub-domain. Most of the time the blog is made into sub-domain and the blog is promoted in other blogs and forums instead of the affiliate site. Once there is traffic in the blog, you can then push the visitors to your affiliate site by placing links to the affiliate site on your blog.

I would add, just right before "pay for traffic", is to participate in related blogs and forums. That will bring traffic to your site as well as increase you and your website's online presence and reputation.

I agree. Your posts should be genuine and you should contribute well to the discussion and not just promote all you want. Otherwise, you'll be banned permanently.

Participating well particularly in blogs can lead on to guest posts for you. This means you write an article for that blog you are participating in. The blog owner will give you due credit of course and this means a link back to your site. So not only do you have a backlink, you get traffic from that guest blog post to your site.

You do not have to do both since the same words are in both phrases. You'll just have to choose which has less competition so you can try ranking for that.

Hi Chris,

Do you mean how many URL links and text hyperlinks should you have in your forum reply and signature? If so, then you need to check the guidelines of the forums you're participating in. Some forums do not allow links in the forum signature unless you've made a specific number of posts while some limit you to only 1 hypertext link.

Hi Chris,

This forum, which is your example, is a no follow so no link juice is passed from this site to yours. If it was do follow, then your site's ranking will have a higher chance of going up. As for Google indexing the backlinks, another user in this forum (or maybe a visitor) will have to click on the link you have on your signature (http://www.taxprepfillmore.com/) or your anchor text in order for the backlink to be indexed and counted. So if all 30 links you have on this forum were clicked, then those 30 links will be indexed and counted to you. Still, as far as Google goes, they may choose to show you all 30 when you run a search or they may only credit and show you 20. You might also find this thread on indexing backlinks helpful.

It has to be a do follow forum to get any juice. Bur if some clicks and url I get juice ?

Hi Chris,

I don't think the backlink will be as effective if you click it yourself, particularly if you use the same IP to create that backlink.

Yes, link juice is passed to your site only if the forum/referring website is do follow. But instead of focusing on this, I suggest you focus on participating on blogs and forums as a way to increase traffic to your site as well as make a reputation for you and your website within your niche.

My problem is my client base is all local. The town population is 15,000.

My gain is when people use Google as a phone book.

I am doing now is trying to move ahead of my competitor Manta Directory listing with my Website.

I just need enough juice to do that and i will be happy.

Have you tried Traffic Travis? You can put in your website there along with that of your competitor's to see where they currently rank for some of your keywords so you'd know where you can improve on to get ahead.
