Keyword Research using Market Samurai
Hi Guys,
Having only just joined with Affilorama and the Blueprint I have now discovered that being a Mac user I can't use Traffic travis. So I have a trial and will buy Market Samurai. I am just trying to get my head around the differences and wondered if anyone can point me in the right direction. I am watching both the TT and MS tutorial videos on keyword research and am getting my knickers all in a twist trying to work out how to follow Mark's advice but using MS as they do recommend slightly different strategies and I want to stick with the Blue Print.
So I am on MS and searching for my keywords. Once I have a whole bunch of them and have them analysed - I've done the whole adding positive and removing ones I don't want etc which I guess is the equivalent of Mark using the sort tool on TT. But then I kind of get stuck with the grouping etc and then the putting into Google keyword Tool.....what do I do and how do I choose the keywords to carry on with? Should I export them and keep sorting with other key words in MS?
I kind of feel like I am stuck without knowing which direction to move forward in.
For all you Market Samurai users I'd love to hear your methods for keyword research.
Thank you!
SR

Hi SR, i agree, i have had market sam for a while now and i have been using Steve Claytons advise on how to do research but some of it is different from the market sams own videos., i am new to affiliate marketing and just started with the video series of Affilorama and i think it really is a fantastic course, however i too seem to be getting into a bit of a mess, what would be brilliant would be if Mark could do a video on it and show us the right way to use it, i'm pretty sure judging by the rest of the videos that he would do a fantastic job and put us straight
Cheers

Hey!
I'm wondering the exact same thing.
I'm using market samurai as well and would love a guide with Mark's advice on how to use it in conjunction with affiloblueprint

we just wait for him to be so kind to answer our question here I hope, I do wonder though. Since someone deleted my thread in this topic for no apparent reason :S I posted it some hours ago and after 30 minutes or so it got deleted, it was a fully eligable question imo. I was wondering whether or not one could have more than 30 keywords when first starting out with their first project.

My advice here, would be to check out the 30 Day Challenge Day 2, on Youtube as the Noble Samurai team (developers of MS) go into this in detail. They also have a huge amount of training covering keyword research, promotion, and every aspect of the product at www.noblesamurai.com/dojo

I have been using Market Samuari for a few weeks and I find it a lot easier to use that Keyword Elete and other tools I have used previously. To get the most out of MS you need to watch all the training videos, maybe twice, but once you get to know your way around it is a very comprehensive tool. Shame they don't have an affiliate program yet :)

I have market samurai and yes its brilliant but I'm wondering if by setting the SEOC to <30,000 or whatever that i'm potentially ruling out some great keywords that have loads of competition in numbers but when it come to on page SEO they are actually fairly easy to outrank.
So thats my question for some of the more advanced members on here...If I use traffic travis to check every keyword I use for affilo blueprint and they all return a difficulty rating of 'relatively easy' are these the keywords I should really be targeting regardless of what amount of SEOC phrase search competition appears in google when I search "keyword" in quotes?
Thanks for any help!

Can someone please reply ASAP to my above question. Sorry about being pushy but I have a article writer ready to get started on it and I'd like to get this thing going quickly.
Thanks

Hi Pockets,
There is no real right or wrong answer to this.
You will find with affiliate marketing that some things just don't make sense.
You choose a good keyword after doing your research and it does not go well.
Then you choose a bad keyword and it really takes off.. go figure.
Now this is not the norm, but my point is.. don't look at this as black and white.
Try it yourself. Test Test Test.
Yes, go for the keywords that are relatively easy in TT.
If you make a mistake then that is good, just fine tune some things.
I do not use market samauri so I can not comment on it.
Maybe someone who has it can chime in as well.
Kind Regards
Troy

Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize
they were the big things.

If SEOC < 30,000 for a profitable microniche, then the chances of getting to the frontpage of Google within 30 days or less is high. That's what these Noble Samurai Guys are saying. Nothing wrong though if SEOC>30,000, but it would be more difficult work, as I understand it.
