Where can I get free images?

Hi guys,

Which websites can i go into to find completely free and legal photos/images?

You can use most images from Wikipedia as well but make sure to read the common attribution license .

Most images from .gov sites I think are free, as well. But whatever site you get images from, be sure to check out the terms of service! Often, the sites will require some kind of link with the image or some other attributing of where you found the image.

You can also find a lot of Creative Commons-licensed photos on Flickr too. Just go the advanced search (http://www.flickr.com/search/advanced/?) then check the CC license box.

And here are some public domain photos: http://public-domain-photos.com/ (it says they've got 5000 pics)

always check the TOS some sites the images are free as long as it is not "commercial use" that means if you make money off of it....your site would fit into that category.

Try http://www.freedigitalphotos.net/ , it has loads of free images, but you need to acknowledge the photographer and FreeDigitalPhotos.net

Creative Commons licenced photos from Flickr also have many of those and be sure to check the different usage terms.

I usually use sxc.hu and Wikipedia and they work fine for me
