The blogging boot camp webinar last night was awesome. Plus the second webiner with Saj was a big...that's an understatement...(HUGE) bonus for me. I learned so much and will try every possible tips that this guy gave.
I think everyone here who missed them should watch them because it will surely boost you up. I never thought of using any of the info that i got from the two webinars and I find them to be easy to implement.
Thanks Mark....I am glad I listen to my heart and join your program!
Thanks for everything so far
Curtis

Hey Curtis, I'm glad you enjoyed both webinars. I'll have the replay of the blog bootcamp online for premium members in the next 36 hours.
All the best!

Unfortunately, I arrived at the second blogging boot camp webinar right when Mark was winding it up. Ripped off... just kidding! I am definitely looking forward to the replay once you get it sorted Mark.
I was in time for the other webinar with Saj though and I agree Curtis, that was the bomb. But man, I'm finding it a little more difficult than he made it out to be. Hopefully I'll be able to streamline the process and start making some headway. More on that in another post.
I'm not getting as much time to dedicate to Affilorama as I would like to. There is so much information, it's hard to know where to start and I just want to get started (you know?). Anyway, like you Curtis, I'm happy to be here and to be in good company. If I make some money, it will be a bonus.
Kev.

Question: At the 50 minute mark of the second blog boot camp the topic of URL redirection was discussed. The method Mark took in the webinar was to mask the URL via a PHP code which he hid the affiliate URL inside an index.php file. Wouldn't it be easier to have the URL automatically redirected within the c panel of your hosting software? I've been going into the redirect section of my c panel, typing in the affiliate link, what I want as far as the masked URL and wallla! It's created.
I guess the question I have is whether or not there's added advantages to doing it the way Mark demonstrated.
Thanks!
Myron

Yea I don't believe you could just place a php file on any host server. I'm assuming Mark has php4 or php5 installed on affilorama servers. But just assuming you can use asp or php might not work just anywhere. I have several hosting accounts at Godaddy. Some are windows (asp.net), and some are linux (php).

some hosts don't allow you to do a heap of redirects in there c/panel sometime thay only alow a couple as its there for when your do a update and need to send your traffic somewere for a short term.
you can see the way Mark said here http://www.affilorama.com/site-building ... -redirects
hope that helps

Hey
Personally, being a newbie & semi illiterate when it comes to technical stuff concerning things like link cloaking the way Mark showed I was quite confused. Watched the video bit by bit to try to follow but in the end found could not do it that way on my Mac computer.
Problem solved though found a plug-in called Pretty Link (Free) so can cloak all links direct from wp-admin so still using my domain name, also has a tracking system included. Very easy to use.
There is a upgraded version which allows you to change all links on a web site within a minute or so no matter how many pages & number of links you have and a heap more features which I can see being very handy in the future when I get to that stage.

For WordPress, I also have used a link cloaking plugin instead of redirects. The one that I like is Shadow Link Cloaker, and can be downloaded at: http://w-shadow.com/blog/2007/07/28/link-cloaking-plugin-for-wordpress/. (Free)
Mark, is there a reason that you prefer to use the redirect method with WordPress in Blogging Boot Camp?
